Oh no - it's not from me. 'Cygnus' is the latin word for 'Schwan', my family name. And 'ed' ... I think you will know
I would be proud to be the developer of CygnusEd. I still use this fantastic proggy. |

| Olaf Barthel.. aha.. so, I guess an OS4 native version is a possibility still then. Cool. Last edited by spotUP on 19-Jan-2006 at 01:37 AM.

Me too, but I discovered SQLite: it's very useful for my needs.
Thanks for this port, CygnusEd !

| Cool. PHP 5.1.1 has some nice improvements, PDO is maybe most important. PHP5.1.x is also much faster than 5.0.
Quote:
| PDO-extension for a consistent interface for accessing databases |
PDO is nice and it's important step forward, but it's not database abstraction layer really. PDO allows you to use consistent function interface, but you can still write SQL-query which does not work with all databases. You could eg. write query which works with MySQL but not with Oracle. You will still need some kind of database abstraction layer if you want your application to work anywhere. What's nice in PDO is that it's now possible to make that abstraction layer simplier and easier to maintain. PDO is also object oriented, old PHP database interface was not.Last edited by miksuh on 19-Jan-2006 at 11:04 AM. Last edited by miksuh on 19-Jan-2006 at 11:03 AM.
