You know if the tight wad had offered me more than 35% well, I would have gone for it!

I recieved an inquiry about one the items I am selling at the moment. The first e-mail seemed genuine, if a bit odd. When I reponded and got a second e-mail it was obvious that they were trying to pull a fast one.

I was intending to report this to a staff member and will do so tonight.

You mean it's a scam? Bugger! I was all set on buying Hyperion Entertainment their own collective body weight in beer as thanks for their efforts to date.

Damn you Nigerian scammers! Damn you all to Hell!

You need another one to play when the computer is actually ready to use.
Maybe add more for malfunctions and then we'll have music all day.

Anyone not ignoring it and in fact makes a deal with these guys needs some serious help. I guess some people are blinded by words like "you recieve 1000000 million" and don't think anymore.

I find it hard to understand how anyone would believe that they'd get 35% of $9 million.

I do get nearly everyday emails like that on my old email address.
Recently I did read a complete report how this works:
A complete clan of Nigerian people from all social structures are involved: cybercafe guys, lawers, complete companies, banks and governmental employees!
Thousands of email addressees do receive emails like that.
In order to get thi smoney transfered you actually have to travel to Nigeria where you are located in 4-5 star hotels. There lawers tell how the transfer works, which Nigerian laws are involved.
After you have signed the contracts you must transfer 10000 or better more dollars to an account in Nigeria (taxes etc. accorcing to Nigerian law).
Until here there's nothing illegal.
After you have transfered your money, the millions promised in the email should be transfered to your account. (But which will never happen! From here on it's illegal)
If you get in contact with the lawer to clarify the situation, you are asked to transfer more money which is backed up by your signed contract and laws!

If you don't do you are charged with suits from the Nigerian court, because you break contract rules! (Nothing illegeal here)

But what shocked me most in that report was that about 10% of all sent emails are answered positively!!! BTW the guy collecting email addresses and taking contacts gets 5% from the transfered money! Not bad for a country where monthly revenue is less than 50 dollars/months.

And those who actually do transfer money are mostly well situated business people. Most famous candidate was a manager of a big Brazilian bank who did transfer 200 Mio dollars to help build up a new airport!

This is great example to show that the sharks who are after money can't get enough!

And I thought people in Africa were often poor. How can they have that money ?

No, only the fast majority of the Africans is poor. A very small minority is extremely rich and that's why the others are poor.

what hapends with Nigeria????!!!!

I meet a nigerian girl (but i have dubts about the pics that she send, it´s too much beauty ) in a chat (amigos.com) a week ago. After various days talking, she say me that she have a bank check that cannot cash in nigeria. She want my address to send me the check for cash it here and then send the money to her.the check is for 2500 euros. she even says that wants to come to spain to meet me.is this some type of fraud?

An now i see that in amigaworld also about nigeria

obviously I have said she neither yes nor that no, i only give her longs. But what could happen if i send her my address? i will not send it but i´m thinking aloud

what do you think about this?
