News   News : New service from IOSPIRIT
posted by tomazkid on 7-Feb-2006 2:55:59 (1693 reads)
IOSPIRIT offers to check that the software you're about to buy via the Internet auction or second hand is genuine and legal.
Amiga-programs distributed and sold by IOSPIRIT are: fxPAINT, fxSCAN, IBrowse and VHI Studio

Pirated and illegal software might work as good as legal software, but the drawbacks with pirated software are many:
Pirated copies are illegal, may not be used legally and you of course do not get any support or updates for them, and by buying an illegal copy, you are also swindled by the seller.
The service is free.

uh... sorry to sound negative, but it's not like we are getting any updates anyway.
good developers deserve to be supported though.

I doubt much pirating exists in the Amiga market these days, the people who are left care too much to let developers turn away.

There is always pirate games complations being sold on ebay. I see them all the time and ebay will do nothing about it.

Well, they will not get any funds from me. I do not buy second hand. I buy first hand only from developers or software houses vending for developers. I believe strongly in supporting our developers.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
