News   News : AmigaTesters needed for AmigaRadio
posted by Anonymous on 13-Mar-2003 10:59:06 (2059 reads)
As you know on march 20th AmigaRadio will be broadcasting for 3 hours only for our first test transmission. I will be hosting the first hour of the show and there will be a playlist avalible.

We need Amiga Listeners and PC listeners to test our transmission to the fullest. Unfortunately at present time shout cast is our only option. Until we finally go live, our main host will be live356 for a wider audience.
-----------------------
Equipment used:
-----------------------
For our main Broadcaster Streaming Equipment:
PC Pentium 3 800 MHz
140Gig Hard Drive
128Graphics Geforce ti200
1Gig of Ram
Windows XP Professional
----------------------------------------
For Storing Modules:
----------------------------------------
Amiga A1200
3.0GigHardDrive
32 meg of Ram
Os3.9
Both are linked.
These are the studio equipment, it does not mean you need the same setup.
Any basic streaming software that supports shoutcast or play list can listen.

Is the equipment listed a minimum requirement?

It would be nice if whoever is running this radio could let us know what kind of format the stream is going to be in :) I assume its shoutcast? (streaming mp3) since you seem to think it will work on the amiga and thats the only broadcast I know of that works, well multiplatform format anyway.

If it is shoutcast I would be more than happy to tune in and give you some opinions, Im good at that you know . However I will only tune in if I can get my amiga working again, as it is shes out of action for reasons that are completely confusing me.

The equipment listed here are for studio purpose only. It does not mean you need exactly the same setup as us. We need the power of Pentium 3 combined with Amiga os3.9 to broadcast in sync together in order for you to listen on your amigas or pcs. It will be streamed using mp3 streaming and real player also soon to be Live356. Any Computer with a good internet connection should be able to listen.
