Software News   Software News : Desert Racing Update released
posted by AndreasM on 25-Feb-2006 13:34:13 (2696 reads)
There three patches available for the full version and the demo.

The demo of Desert Racing (230MByte file, needs 600MB HD) can be also obtained from the Support-Homepage.

The demo version isn't needed to be downloaded again it is sufficient to apply the patch which is only a few KByte.

The patches for the demo version are available on the Desert Racing Supportpage on http://www.apc-tcp.de

The patches for the full version can be only obtained via Mail from info@apc-tcp.de because of piracy.

For a patch for the full version we need the real name and if not bought directly from APC&TCP the dealers name and the bill number.

For anyone who's wondering what the hell Desert Racing is (I was!), I eventually managed to find it:
http://www.apc-tcp.de/support/0020e.html

Looks like a nice (if rather low res) voxel-3D racing game. But amazingly for a new(?) game it is AGA-only, which is rather limiting your market (and CPU power).

Maybe SO but just look at the power behind that awesome AGA chipset. Just look what it did, a game like that Lots of games are pushing the C64 to it LIMITS beyond imagination, and now here are some examples of what you can do when you push the AGA to it's limit and beyond.

It’s not AGA only or at least not according to their web site.

"Minimum: Amiga with AGA or graphicsboard, 68030/33 CPU, 2MB of ChipRAM and 32MB of FastRAM, harddrive, CD-ROM drive A better CPU is recommended."

Would be nice if somewhere there was a mention of who's hosting the huge demo

Just for info sake, in January we transfered 129GB of the Demo, so far this month we've done 36GB.

Still nice to see the patch is now available to download

Shame it doesn't run on OS4, it thinks there is no fastram installed.
