posted by Zettmaster on 17-Apr-2006 13:08:54 (5764 reads)
AWeb is now 3.5.08 =)

CHANGES FROM 3.5.07 to 3.5.08

AMISSL
AWeb now supports the new amissl.library version 3. Support for older versions has
been dropped. Amissl version 3 is more secure, faster, easier to install.
Amissl comes as part of OS4 from update 4 and is available for m68k systems from
http://www.heightanxiety.com/AmiSSL/ .

ALPHA BLENDING FOR awebpng.awebplugin.
The png plugin now supports alpha blending / alpha channel support on screen depths
greater than 8bits, for AmigaOS 4.0 and Morphos versions.
The Amiga OS 4 version uses the libablit written by Jürgen Schober.

ETAG

AWeb now supports the etag tecnique for cache validation.

OS4 MEMORY SYSTEM

The main executable has been adapted to abide by the new OS4 memory rules,
the awebplugins and aweblibs still misbehave.

GENERAL BUGFIXES

Many bug fixes dramatically increasing stabilty (touch wood).

Hey, I didn't submit the news item. Perhaps the person who submitted it should have included them as well?

I'm not psychic you know!

Try going Gui settings and resetting to defaults settings, select use and see if the wheel works then.

If it does you need to add the key settings for Wheel Up / Wheel down etc. They are the bottom of the list of definable keys.

Hi all,

Is it really faster or is it just me being too excited about the new version.

I use AWeb all the time. Thanks so much the AWeb team.

Firbodi

PS: Cool! The progress bar is back!

It`s been a while since I used Aweb , this version looks good mousewheel works, AMISSL3 works (though it seems a bit temperamental logging onto my EGG account, suspect this is AWEB rather than AMISSL3 as IBrowse with AMISSL2 works fine).

Aweb dosen`t seem to like it if I turn off the diskcache though, start getting loads of error messages.

What sort of error messages?

AWeb should always have some disk cache, put the cache in ram:T if you really don't want it on a real disk.

Temperamental in what way?

Sometimes it logs in and sometimes it tells me the postcode is entered in the
wrong format.
On one occasion it seemed to bypass the whole login procedure and go straight to my account.

Aweb dosen`t seem to like it if I turn off the diskcache though, start getting loads of error messages.

What sort of error messages?

AWeb should always have some disk cache, put the cache in ram:T if you really don't want it on a real disk.

It was just messages trying to get me to mount various things and Aweb also stopped displaying pictures. I haven`t bothered with a disk cache on Ibrowse since I got broadband, but I guess it`s not really an issue anyway.
