Thanks mate for the update.

If we dont understand German we can ask for his paypal and send him some money
to buy one of the stuff mentationed :D
Other thing could be a surprise like sending a toy or so to his address from your country.

amazon.de is laid out exactly the same as amazon.co.uk, so it's easy enough to work out.

If you're concerned about what you're buying.. well, the pictures speak for themselves.

1. First thing to do then is create an account at http://www.amazon.co.uk
2. Visit amazon.de via Mason's link
3. Click on "Einkaufswagen" next to the product you want
4. Click on "Zur Kasse Gehen"
5. a) Type in your email address that you regsitered with earlier, in the top box ("Geben Sie Ihre E-Mail-Adresse ein")
b) Select "Ich bin bereits Kunde und mein Passwort ist:"
c) Type your password in the box below.
d) Click on "Weiter"
6. Select "An diese Adresse versenden" above "Max Merz"
7. Click on "Weiter" (there's a pressie wrapping service option just above that, but I haven't checked to see if there are any additional options that it asks)
8. Half-way down the page, the section "Mit neuer Karte bezahlen" is where you put in your card details. The drop-down is obvious, Kreditkartennummer should be self-explanatory (it's the card number), followed by the name on the card and the expiry date ("Gültig bis")
9. Click "Weiter"
10. It might give you a confirmation page after that, in which case you'll want to confirm it (IIRC it'll be the top option, which will probably be a bit wordier than "Weiter", IIRC it's something to do with chickens ). I didn't go that far in my test, need to look after my finances this month - If you're not sure you can always tap it into Babelfish.
