| Glad it gets a bit cheaper,
just do some CPU optimization ... 600Mhz is not bad at all if properly used

| Sadly to see that still 500-600-700mhz cpus are used for. 1-2ghz will be much better:) Becouse with all these 600 mhz, it will be again "almost ok". I.e. all works, but not smooth. The better buy peg2 from second hands then (even if you plane only os4 used on).

| all we need now is someone to say we should have boards with pci-e on as well as over 1GHz cpus, and all will be complete, even though the amount of pci-e cards with amiga os drivers is quite small

We should have boards with pci-e on as well as over 1GHz cpus :)
But even this 600MHz Sam is a huge upgrade for people who are used to an 68k based Amiga. I hope they will be in stock for a much longer time now.

AFAIK all PPC SOC designs that have PCIe also have PCI so if someone brought out a new system tomorrow we could fall back on PCI as a stop gap.
Question is, will there be an Amiga capable board with PCIe before Hans completes his Radeon HD drrivers? |
