The home page says this was released on 6 March 2009.

Has something been changed to make it news now? Or did the release just go unnoticed?

Sure. Edgar made a Cygnix port of it and released it now

@Nostromo

I use cygnix port of another (imho quite similar) email client, also made by Edgar, the sylpheed. On A1XE with 1GHz G4 it's fast (gui responsivness). I use it simultaneously with 4 imap accounts. Very snappy (alpthough the gui is a bit less snappy than simplemail, dunnoh about yam, it's a long time since I touched it last time). It is not graphically intensive app so there should be no problem, not even on classic amigas. Why don't you just try it?

Jack.

@Nostromo

Depends on your system. On my AOne XE G4 it is very usable. It is my favourite mailer and I use it for a long time now. Just try it
