Internet News   Internet News : New home for OS4 SDL
   posted by xeron on 3-Jul-2009 10:41:01 (2868 reads)
The "official" port of SDL to AmigaOS 4.x is now hosted at Google Code!

This means that there is an official download site and bug tracker, and it also means that anyone can check out the latest SVN version and help out!

Well done!

Just a question: the binaries have a different size from the "XU" version, could you tell us what has changed, please (looked around on Google Code and also checked the svn log to no avail)?

I think the only change compared to OS4Depot is support for unsigned 8bit audio.

I haven't uploaded it to OS4Depot yet, because I think Hans-Joerg is going to commit some changes soon.

I'll then do a build, and then remove all the "xeron's unofficial sdl" stuff from OS4Depot and replace the official builds with the latest ones.

@xeron

I've always wanted to see OS4 promoted in the mainstream sites where it could get exposure to thousands if not millions of people instead of being stuck on some site only visited by fanboys. Good move. Let's see more stuff like this happening with OS4..

You can go ahead and upload it, it will be a while until I can do any more SDL work - I am currently busy with ... something else
