News   News : New album Legowelt available
   posted by x303 on 30-Jul-2009 21:56:20 (4647 reads)
Just recently, a new album from legendary electronic artist Legowelt is available. It's called 'Amiga Railroad Adventures' and is out on Strange Life Records.

Quoted from his website, www.legowelt.com

"From the romantic days of Amiga computing cosyness come 16 fresh new Legowelt tracks in the style of Beyond the Congo and Venom 18. Music about golf courses in the Bermuda Triangle (oh no the ball went into a dimensional hole!), Night driving through 16 bit Amiga Pine Forests (Deluxe Paint sprites!), British railroad romantics (dedication to the trainspotters), Dr. Loomis' adventures in Haddonfield and much, much more! Made on the mighty Amiga 1200 running the Octamed sequencer, a TR808, a couple of Korg modulars and some old effects boxes."

i talked to him some months ago, he did a small dj set here prior to a bigger live show the day after.. shame i didn't know about his amiga background.. =)
many dnb artists still use octamed for sequencing.

aphrodite / urban shakedown (which songs?)
patric catani (ec8or, candie hank, etc)
christian morgenstern
neophyte
osdorp posse
ewmyren
team doyobi

in an interview in knowledge magazine with the moving shadow-boss it was stated that a lot of their early stuff was made on amiga.

super sharp shooter by dj zinc is made on amiga.

paradox is using an a1200 for sequencing too, he is displaying it on a screen when playing too.

do you guys know of more people that still use the amiga for music production?

Orgue Electronique, which is a very close friend of legowelt, uses an amiga sometimes too.
Look for more info (search the amiga) at his site.

On this picture on the right you can even see the amiga: http://www.sternstudio.com/tr7x7.jpg
