I went to the website of this port by accident a couple of weeks ago... didn't realise it was being ported to OS4 & MorphOS so was surprised to see that on the site!
And now it's released... cool!
I will have to give it a go ASAP.

| This archive seems to be corrupted as well, so I fail to unpack and play it, or is it just me

I thought maybe I shutdown OWB 3.29 before the download was completed. The file was corrupted.
Then, I tried NetSurf 2.5 and download and unpack went just fine. Netsurf 2.5 shows a download progress bar.
I downloaded again just now using OWB 3.29 and the file was ok. I will just have to be more careful to watch the lights on my router when I am using OWB to download. I think there was a pause just before the download finished.

The PS3 controllers are recognized by our Amiga systems, you may have noticed it if you plugged it in via USB onto your Amiga OS4.x
BUT
Then theres the problem of pushing the PS button on the controller, this is what our Amiga's do not recognize. Atleast, that is what happened when Ive placed it in there a few times, its recognized, lights flashing, but thats it.
When the lights are flashing, the only step left is to push the PS button on the controller, for the controller to recognize it as being No. 1 controller, but that doesnt work on our Amiga systems at the moment.
Mmmmmm, MAYBE, this is proof that there was consideration of having Amiga OS as part of the Playstation console at one ppint in time, but it fell through.
COuld be, why else would a PS3 controller be recognized on our Amiga OS4 systems if they didnt consider it?
Anyway, thats the past, future is x1000 and above.

what screen resolution are you using? I get blurry lines running 1024x768 & don't know how to modify the config file to change the resolution? game plays fine when run from shell in small window mode though

Strange :-/
I'm running WB in 1024x768 but the game runs fine on its own screen here on my Sam... I played around with different options from shell but it seems it doesn't support them yet, and the config seems to only handle sound and keys...
Did you copy all .so files from the drawer to SOBJS when you installed the game:?

ya thats what i thought but I re-checked and all the .so files are in the SOBJS folder and the game runs fine in window mode

Did you replace all the files in SOBJS? I only copy those who were missing. Actually, I copied the files once from the SQRXZ archive without replacing any files in SOBJS:
Does SQRXZ run well?

I'd love to play this game natively on AROS too, even if emulation of the original is fine (side note: when I was younger I always prefered the C64 over the Amiga one, mainly for better playability reasons - and Giana under VICE is great). I hope Yannick will repeat the miracle he just made with Aquaria, if he's reading this =) |

Giana's Return and Sqrxz will both open their own 640x480 16bit screen by default. You cannot change the resolution in the config file. Optionally you can run the game in a 320x200 WB window with option -w or add anti-aliasing with option -aa.
I fail to understand how you can run it on its own 1024x768 screen. |

I run it mostly with the WB icon, but it runs well from the shell too.
Weird that you can't run it "properly" with the icon, but it's nice anyway that you can play it somehow :-/
