Thanks to Trevor Dickinson and especially Andrea Palmaté (he helped a lot) we can show you the first Video of AMC running on AmigaOS 4.x.

If everything goes fine (think so) you will be able to see it live on a X1000 at the Amiwest Event.

Please visit Fabio Falcucci's developer blog for more INFO's about AMC. http://amcdev.wordpress.com/media/

@ All

Now if only some programmers of good will, will start coding some drivers for AROS, AmigaOS and MorphOS (anyone in his own camp) just for a single model digital TV DVB-T and satellite DVB-S PCI Card (maybe an all-purpose one), just one of medium/good quality such as Terratec (or other brand), then the PCI-TV card will integrate perfectly and will be completed by such a good media center...

@Raffaele
That is something i have been hoping for as well.. I own both a dvb hauppage nexus-s and skystar2, so would have been nice to be able to use these cards under amigaos.

@Raffaele

Does it really have to be pci? I prefer a network based tuner personally.

Get it done, and you've got my money !

Realy impressive !

A few questions:

- What are the minimum specs needed (AROS version and OS4 version)
- Would it be possible to get a remote control working with the OS4 version ?
- What can be done using the plugin option ? (starting games ? Emulators ? Internet browser ? mail ?)

Cheers ! Good job !

Martin

I have not tested yet the minimum requirements but generally speaking every hardware capable of playing video with mplayer can run AMC without much worries, so if your hardware can play 720p videos, AMC will be able to run smoothly on your machine and playback these kind of videos.

About plug-in you are right: starting games, starting emulators, media exporters, clocks, information frames and virtually anything you can do using internal Hollywood API, my own AMC API, ScuiLib, and/or using Hollywood as a frontend for external programs.

About remote: AMC controls are optimized to be remote friendly but you are free to configure keys like you wish, so if you have a remote that is recognized by the system and is able to generate a keypress, then the remote will be compatible with AMC.

I Hope to have answered your questions, if you have any doubts just ask :)
