Software News   Software News : Updated iBatch 1.1 - Batchprocessing for images
   posted by gerograph on 18-Dec-2010 18:33:21 (2610 reads)
Updated Version of iBatch has been released! You can now easily create passwordprotected html image websites! Just right in time to show of you Xmas Pics. Enjoy + MerryXmas:

Screenshot resulting webpage
iBatch + Addhtml-Plugin created website

iBatch 1.1 adds mainly html website creation and Plugin support to iBatch 1.0 (Image Batcher). iBatch allows users to easily convert/rename/renumber/resize/rotate a bunch of pictures at once. The pictures to be processed can be collected in a "Batchlist". In order to organize your batchlist ibatch provides a "Viewer" and "Batchlist browser" tool.
iBatch 1.1 + Addhtml Plugin is available in English, German, Spanish (Thanx Javier de las Rivas) and Italian (Thanx Gianluca Girelli !!)

A fast workflow is guaranteed even on slow systems. This is accomplished by using preprocessed thumbnails/preview images
for the "Viewer" or "Batchlist browser" tool. All thumbnails will be kept in sync with their corresponding source directory. Before you start the "Viewer" tool, iBatch will therefore check for existent thumbnails and add missing thumbnails from the given sourcedir.

The whole program can be perfectly used for organizing/resizing digicam pics. Furthermore it becomes handy, when you have to convert whole image directories at once.

Requirements
24Bit pic datatypes, zlib.library, jpeg.library, wizard.library, lots of RAM (at least for digicam pics) and OS3.x. or OS4.x
Runs perfectly on my SAM440. Lots of RAM recommended.

All details, new screenshots, download V1.1 .... on
www.geobiz.de/ibatch.html

iBatch will also appear on Aminet soon...

The AmigaOS 4 native version of the wizard.library find you at Alinea Computer:

Hey, good work as always geograph.

I have a general comment, I am not just picking on you in particular, it is something I have observed and read in countless other programs.

How hard would it be to check the existence of wizard.library and report the version number?

Pretty standard thing to do in C/C++ right?

So surely if the user doesn't have the required library you can use Curl to download the required file from an online repository to RAM then uncompress the file, locate the library in the distribution install to Libs.

Then I can stop reading ridiculous things like 'requires x library'... well if its not that there then install the bloody thing!

@AmigaPapst
Thanks for the link, check
http://www.geobiz.de/idownload.html

All needed libs are linked here, incl. the "Alinea" one AmigaPapst mentioned.

@djrikki
Yep, I give you that, installing libs manually is a bit annoying. This issues was discussed several times before and there are pros and cons:

1. e.g. there are more than one wizard.library suitable, which one do you want ?
2. does Curl/Curl Interface exist in AmiBlitz ?
3. I may have to write an amiblitz compatible download tool, in order to download required files... that would be great to have, I could even do an automatic upload of pics as well. But I guess this is not a 1st priority feature for iBatch !
4. Otherwise I need wget or something similar, which is once again a third party product and needs to be installed additionally !
