posted by _Steve_ on 20-Jun-2003 22:56:35 (2290 reads)
Bernie Meyer recently presented a modified UAE-JIT for PPC at a meeting of the Australian Amiga Users Group.

The benchmarks and tests he performed can be viewed here seen running on IMac and Pegasos motherboards.

Hmm, i wonder if it would run on my friends e-mac.
It would be intresting to see it running on his G4.

And why not gif it a try on a Teron board from mai?

I think that it would be good for AmigaOS to run on
as manny hardware as we can, just for the publicity
of the Classic OS and the AmigaOS itself.

If only Amiga could put al those great Amiga-programmers
back together, like Petro did in the past years.
Amiga should act like a mediator, yes i know, it must
come from both sides and they have tryed it in the past,
but maybe it is not to late to try it again...

De groetjes, Dirk.

I think a lot if people would like to have their fingers crossed for it being brought over to OS4 too

The JIT in the x86 UAE made a hell of a difference to performance, and we can hope for the same treatment in the PPC ports now too all going well.
