INTRODUCTION
After years of waiting the Amiga community will finally get
a new complete AmigaNG experience. 2010 is the year we
made contact. The AmigaONE X1000 is a new machine
being commissioned by a new company A- eon that was set
up to develop new AmigaOS4 and beyond hardware, it has
a very close relationship with Hyperion the developers of
the AmigaOS.

@K-L

Its a running joke for Petah. I fully expected it on this thread.

Makes me chuckle everytime.

I was quite surprise to see this, this is my site. Its not ready yet thats why at the bottom it says THIS SITE IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I did intended on launching it last year but other things got in the way and I'm finding hard to get to grips with CSS, this is my first site using it and I must admit I'm a bit out of date on web design, what I wasted a lot of time on was a CSS menu that I had made largely the same look and function as the one on their now, and took ages to get working and to look right, I only tested in Firefox and for what ever reason when I got around testing it in Owb, IE and various other bowers it just completely went screwee, so went back to more my roots with Flash, which I know the Amiga community love (joke).

I know their are a lot of issues and problems with it at the moment, I'm currently working on a simpler navigation bar that all Amiga bowers can use and then will improve the contents and code, I did consider taking down the site until its ready, but its easier to test new code live and show friends and it gets the site up the Google ranks the longer its up :)

Thanks for all your comments, both positive and negative and will aim to do better when I get the time to update it.

@thread

nice site well done !

if I were you I would :

break X1000 Information into paragraphs, or even bullet point.

remove all images below, move images to right margin below specs as small icons that link to large images.

remove specs in main body as you have specs nicely placed on right margin - same with price.

good luck

Because of three emails on this very issue I have removed the Price.

It originally came from unreliable source "moobunny" but I kind of believe that would be the price and it what was listed in the Beta agreement that was posted on that site, but I guess it could of been faked.
http://moobunny.dreamhosters.com/cgi/mbthread.pl/amiga/expand/175779
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/6373/aeonbetatester1.png (3rd way down the pages)

Plus actually re-reading it acually say final cost maybe £1,150.

So any way because it is unreliable source, and I'm not on the beta team and know one can really say how much it will end up costing, I have removed the price. Sorry

PS: any seen this new pics on A1 X1000 yahoo group.

One of the X1000 tower, looks a bit odd with X's in the boing, might be just a first test case.

But looking good, I might get a White one however, undecided! (if I can afford one :)

@amigang

Great to see web site expanding

A small "fix": in right specs it sais 6 USB 2.0 while lower
board specs sais 10. I&I believe 10 is the answer.

Also, Hyperion blog is AmigaOS 4 support forum,
not the AmigaOS 4 hardware forum.

Other then that, keep up the good work!

I would put...

"CPU: PWRficient PA6T-1682M Dual-core 2 GHz 64bit CPU
- running at 1,8Ghz by default (CPU clock can be set on the fly according to the CPU load)-
- 64k i and d cache per core
- 2MB L2 Cache (available to both cores)
- VMX (Altivec SIMD unit)
- 64 GB/s peak bandwidth
- Offload engine for cryptography, RAID, TCP"
"Memory: 4x DDR2 SDRAM slots, on two 64bit memory busses, up to 32Gigabytes (requires OS update)"
"3x PCIe x1 slots"
"1x Xorro slot (gives access to "Xena"), inline with the third PCIe x1 slot"
"4x SATA 2 connectors (RAID capable)"

etc...

And perhaps a link to CPU's PDF http://www.hotchips.org/archives/hc18/2_Mon/HC18.S2/HC18.S2T1.pdf

@ BrandonLee

You first reaction must be lying to your own body, maybe its your bodys self defence mechanism that has kicked in so you dont drop onto the floor in shock horror?

Haha,

Your right though, My first reaction was in a similar boat, but more " It cant be that expensive?"

Hahaha,

Well, not much longer now before we find out.

Cheers
