@soft

>I love the shadow cast by the titlebar

Just don't get too upset IF that turns out to be simply a part of the backdrop image ;)

These screenshots do indeed look like a good default setup but I don't like the thickness of the window and drawer borders. I like them thin and not that intrusive.

But coloring and texturing wise; great setup!

I see popupmenu in the prefs drawer; I guess that's the same functionality as MagicMenu so that's fantastic.

Is WBStartup+ added also. I like that tool. If not, that's no problem because the sources are available so a PPC native version shouldn't be that hard to do.

@ PulsatingQuasar

The thickness of Windows and Title bars can easily be adjusted, as this was one of the many things Jürgen demonstrated at last week's Tour event.

Very nice - they're definitely listening to user suggestions, and a lot of the people on OSNews seem to like it. Is there any chance that we can sometime have a second poll to see how opinions have changed? Well done to everyone involved

---edit---

BTW what happened to the colourful buttons on DOpus?

The few tweaks they have made count for a world of difference - the look is starting to mature now and it's beginning to look like something I could really spend time in front of and would happily show off to Mac and PC users.

I'd still like to see improved contrast in text areas though.

Mike, do you know if the screen-bar (the one you grab to drag screens) is resizeable too?

At the moment it's waaay too big for my liking. I already think the OS X bar is too big, and this is even bigger.

Hi guys!

These are absolutely the best screenshots of OS4 I've ever seen! Good work Massimo & Matthew!!

I also like the thread at OSNews, seems that many people would take a look at the AmigaOne & OS4.

MakeCD's Triton GUI looks a bit ugly, but it isn't actually that bad. Anyway, DirectoryOpus and SnoopDOS look surprisingly good with the new intuition.library look.
In the screenshot with Notepad running, you can see the new StartUp-Sequence. Seems like SetPatch days are gone

Finally OS4 screenshots looks good :]

I like default font look a lot [big, rounded and readable], window colours [gradients] are very nice and overall it looks great! Congratulations to OS4 team. These scnapshots are best I have seen for now.

Anyway, few things seems to be missing are:

- adjustable outline on icon fonts. For now RamDisk, OS4 and other icon text can't be seen well on darker parts of a backdrop. For that matter it would be nice if I can select font outline colour [as in DOpusMagellan where I have white fonts with black outlne]. Dropshadow on fonts would do the right thing too if that option will be implemented.

- texture could be better in amidock. I wish AmiDock could handle half transparent background texture [as in Photoshop] and also gradient backgrounds [from user selectable colour to transparent]. Would look better than MacOSX :]

- slightly better backgrounds [wallpapers]... I just didn't like pink-blue gradient :]

- a question: is it possible to set digital clock with date on right corner of the bar?

- and final question: can workbench bar really casts dropshadow or it is wallpaper?

Okay, I just went back over them and looked again. I see one other thing I don't like... the big black dropdown arrows in MakeCD. I guess that is something legacy left in there? But other than that, it's looking VERY good.

I also just noticed that MakeCD is creating an image called "AmigaOS 4.0 Install". Nice tease!

Also, is Partition Wizard the new HDToolbox replacement? I don't remember it looking that good before (or being called Partition Wizard for that matter)

Yes, that is the Triton GUI, a not so well known GUI toolkit for AmigaOS.

Hi,

> Also, is Partition Wizard the new HDToolbox replacement? I don't remember it looking that good before (or being called Partition Wizard for that matter)

I think it was called "MediaToolbox".

--Edit-- Come to think of it, I don`t think thats it`s actually the same thing as "MediaToolbox". Partition Wizard seems to do "stuff" with partitions you already have, not make new ones.

Another DOpus feature I just noticed: "CPU: 100%"!!!!
It`s probably confused by the 68K emulation though...

Regards,

Frank.

Yeah, I think you are right. That sound's like it.

After going back and looking a bit longer, you are correct again. It seems to be the tool for fixing problems, salvage, and optimizing your partitions.

I've just noticed the new "Internet" preference. Is that a tool to change the settings for RoadShow?
