software AROS   software AROS : Bounty 54: Zune Enhancement Assigned!
   posted by deadwood on 4-Mar-2012 16:53:01 (2318 reads)
The bounty has been assigned to Krzysztof Smiechowicz. The goal of the bounty is to implement the missing functionality in Zune so that Odyssey Web Browser can be compiled on AROS and has the same set of features MUI-wise as on MorphOS and AmigaOS 4.

Bounty description and details can be found here

The bounty is still open to donations and the bounty deadline is set to 1st September 2012. Please consider donating!

Odyssey Web Browser is a WebKit-based browser developped by Fabien Coeurjoly for MorphOS and ported to AmigaOS 4.

Zune is an open source clone of MUI. Currently available for AROS/AROS m68k and for AmigaOS 3.x via AfAOS package.

Krzysztof is AROS Development Team member. He worked previosly on porting Mesa3D library to AROS and providing Nouveau NVidia 2D and 3D drivers.

Didn't we all agree to split bountyes on small ones and even say to all the users before, to resend almost all the money from that bounty, to the "zune fix part 1" bounty ? I mean if you will do all of this, then what will do Neil ? Should't be all that money from bounty which assigned by Neil sends back to that one ?

I mean all the users send / resend their donaions to the zune-fix-part-1 bounty because they think that its step #1 to bring fab's browser , and if you will do it, then all the money need to resend to you back, again. Imho of course.

@kas1e:
dont you think they are going to work hand in hand like jason and toni? one has to get rid for those open bounties somehow, whoever does it.

@kas1e

Neil's bounty is about bringing ALL features of MUI 3.8 into Zune. My bounty is about bringing 3.8 and 4.0 MUI feature to Zune that are needed to run OWB - nothing more. There is an overlap between those two bounties and I guess the overlap will be solved in "whoever get's to do it first" fassion. I'm already in contact with Neil about those topic btw. :) There is no reason to move money - just add some more ;)

@deadwood

I am just about that ppls mostly donate to part 1 bounty just beause they think that its necessary for porting of fab's owb (that also was a reasson why the move money from one bounty to another), but as its you will do that port and you will fix all what is need to fix to make it works , then, if ppls will know that before, they for sure will send more money to your bouny (as they for sure more interesing in the fab's browser, but not in the bring zune to level of mui3.9/4 (its only developers mostly in interest in it).

Anyway iam sure you with Neil will do all right, just imho you deserve a bit more money than just 300$. So i just donated a bit and will do more soon :)

thats because most of donors have moved the money to another bounty upon request. but i think neil and krzysztof will find the way to share the effort nevertheless. cool that this have been assigned to another top deveoloper. it looks quite promissing.

@kas1e

Neil has TONS more work to do than I do and the money he get's in the bounty should stay there (also I doubt P2P will allow moving money back once the bounty is assigned).

@deadwood

In any case, I intend to share a significant portion of my bounty money with you, due to the work you've done on Zune in recent weeks.
