After 20 years since the last Commodore Amiga was released, the first new Commodore Amiga will be released by mid May, and this time in a Mini case. It comes with two options, barebones and fully loaded with i7 2600K [3.5GHz Quadcore] + nVidia 430 (with it's own discreet 1GB of RAM).
Full details can be found at CommodoreUSA. |

Doh! Fill it up before you abandon it and don't leave it in New Orleans. _________________ AmigaOne X1000, A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, A500, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, CBM4032, Efika, Ultimate64

Commodore was gearing up for PA-RISC to replace 68K |
Yes, and PA RISC wouldn`t continue with AmigaOS.
If AmigaOS was to advance, if Commodore survived few years more, its likely in that time of IBM Apple and Motorola alliance it would also go PowerPC. As ESCOM and every Amiga Inc planned (as well as others) and was done by Hyperion.
Its very sad PowerPC almost disappeared while OS has grown to some extent, but that are AmigaOS days. Same happened to first PowerPC AmigaOS now known as MorphOS.
x86 is nothing wrong as desktop, laptop etc. architecture and would be preferred target if we had funds for AmigaOS and MorphOS x86 transition + Rosetta apple software (no longer used in MacOS X - could be licenced) to keep avail software running. But its not feasible now and maybe not even in near future, as is with both ports to ARM (would be lovely to see them on handheld devices!)
But neither is excuse for CUSA lack of development of new software and hardware. Or Hyperion claim it would destroy AmigaOS instantly compared to its widespread use and software development possibilities.
For CUSA meesage is bring something really new, not just rebranded, relabeled ...
Even so, CUSA could invest share of profit to really make a new OS after some running on nostalgia, not so low specs anymore and improved nice and smooth Linux (there is already a newer MINT, go partner with the boys if you gonna use them! they could do OS support, maybe even drivers for all that new Amiga combinations by local dealers!)
If there would be e.g. feasible plan that you could really fund "Amiga goes x86" route (sign agreement with Hyperion and get even AmigaOne licence!) as well as aid, MorphOS to x86, Amigauserswould praise you. (as well as AROS boys that already there and need some support to finish few nice bounties and 68k port usable to all that have UAE) E.g. newer Directory Opuses just aren`t like Magellan. Buy the bounty and port it to MOS, AROS, OS4 and Linux Mint!
There are a lot of opportunities to be more friendly. Don`t forget your "new" "Amigas" are able to run AROS, and probably new improved "C64" models too ... _________________ Future Acube and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionals. Learn it harder way!

| Hm, not only the design but also the price tag reminds me on overpriced Apple products.
And as with Apple products I ask myself: why will anybody buy such a thing? And unbelievable but true: there always are people doing it, don't undertstand why, but they do it - even if you can build a compatible and much better machine for a fraction of the price with little effort.
So, well, I don't like that thing but I can understand that CUSA will at least try to sell something like it - may well be it's a good strategy to make money.

| SinclairUK kit introduced .
Introducing the new Sinclair QL mini
Real image, not photoshopped SinclairUK are proud to announce the immediate availability of the first Sinclair QL computer in about a billion years or something, the QL mini. We did intend to launch yesterday but feared that it may be seen as an april fool joke and not an actual real product so delayed for 24 hours.
The new Sinclair QL mini is the only computer with comparable specs in it's price range, no other computer comes close and no other computer at any price allows you to do so much with an official Sinclair sticker on the front.
The new QL mini is only available in traditional Sinclair kit form as it reduces the cost to the consumer and to save you even more money we have decided that you would be better off sourcing the parts yourself as it means we don't need to pay for a huge warehouse to store everything, therefore passing the savings on to you.
To obtain your new Sinclair QL mini please follow these instructions.
1, Purchase these parts from your favourite vendor. * ZOTAC Z68ITX-B-E * intel core i7 2600K 3.5GHz * 1TB SATA hard drive * 2 x 8GB DDR3 SO-DIMMs * intel mini-PCIe wireless card * wesena HTPC ITX2 case *Sinclair Badge for the front of the case (only available from SinclairUK for just £1000+VAT)
2, Assemble all the parts, training courses should be available in your area if you don't know where to start.
3, Send the receipts for the parts you purchased to SinclairUK so we can verify that your new computer meets the QL standards.
Once all these steps are completed, you have affixed the Sinclair sticker to your case (this is the most important part) and installed Sinclair OS you will now be the proud owner of a brand new Sinclair QL mini, the greatest mini desktop computer with a Sinclair badge available today.
You will receive a Sinclair UK welcome pack containing warranty information (only covers sticker peeling) and a CD-R disc containing a couple of emulators we downloaded.
Why buy a bog standard PC that doesn't say Sinclair on it when you can have a Sinclair QL mini that does _________________ Future Acube and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionals. Learn it harder way!
