We all pretty much knew for a while that Bill McEwen would not be able to make it to AmiWest with the current situation. Its good to see an honest comment on the amiga.com website.

I can't make it to amiwest either! ahhhhhhh!!!!

Too bad, he's a nice fellow to speak to in person. (Talked to him eye to eye in Germany some years ago)

I am sure he would have wanted to be present at AmiWest and I believe most rationalist Amiga users understand that business priorities come first and thus the man has to be flexible accordingly...

Good to see this addressed in a timely manner.

Agreed. Better than the issue with Cebit where everyone had to beg them for clarification. At least it was announced ahead of time. No more needed, or expected. Tough luck for Bill, but it will not keep Amiwest from going ahead and being a good show.

I agree .... Should be a very interesting show.

I'm hoping Kermit, for one, will announce a PPC native version of ImageFX will be available.

+ lots of OTHER announcements.

Whatever the reason this is not good PR.

But when has good PR ever been an Amiga strength?

Mike, surely you're aware that the conflict is that he's scheduled for a court appearance involving an employee suing for unpaid wages. I suppose this could be considered a "business priority", broadly defined.

>Cann't attend AmiWest

Perhaps Mr Bill McEwen should send a pre-recorded video / speech
to AmiWest and conduct a live Q&A session / audio teleconference
(ordinary phone call with moderator)

AmiWest is very important for Amiga community, and it is strange
that Amiga CEO cann't attend the important show.
