software OS4   software OS4 : FastView 2.0 on OS4Depot
   posted by zzd10h on 22-Oct-2013 8:45:59 (3105 reads)
FastView 2.0 has been uploaded on OS4Depot, it should be the latest version.

FastView 2.0

The goal of this version is to provide some ways to open pictures without using the FastView main interface... (Please click 'Read more')

- by double-clicking picture directly in Workbench.
a kind of replacement for MultiView thanks to special FastView deficons

- by using a new Contextual Menu option "FastPicture"

- by script "APPDIR:FastView SinglePicture Picture_name.JPG"
(optionally, you can add Width and Height desired as parameters)

Thanks to Anthony 'Phantom' Iliakis and to Paolo 'pvanni' for the suggestions

Compared to MultiView, this FastView mode :

- opens Picture in screen-scaled mode

- allows to navigate between the pictures (in the same drawer) with arrow keys

Thanks to Lionel 'Lio' Muller for the suggestion

- allows the switch scaled-size / full-size by "Space bar" key or menu option

- allows to resize the picture by menu option

- allows to delete or set the picture as wallpaper by menu

Of course, if you choose to replace picture's deficons by FastView new ones, the originals ones will be back-uped.

For more details (for example for how to use eastern with the FastView deficons), please read the ReadMe.txt

Don't hesitate to paypal me a little coin to guillaume at boesel.fr, if you use/appreciate aTunes, FastView, SysMon, NetDock, FastCompress, FlipPaper or AttachMail

FastView on OS4Depot

My thanks to all Amigans who helped me with FastView!

You are welcome.

Are the deficons work well for you ?
When you double-click on a picture on the Workbench, is it FastView who is opened ?

Thanks for reply.

@Phantom:

I made a mistake in the deficon installer, I used "copy *" instead of "copy #?" to copy my modified deficons.
I didn't realize that it worked for me because I have the Prefs/Dos option to allow "*" use (not the default)
You should have it you too, no ?

I will have to update FastView package again...

Great program.

One minor problem.
I get a DSI Task 0x64bff940 address0x01a7c454 when i click the preview box on the top right before i select any pictures.
Otherwise it works fine on my A1G4XE once i have selected some pics to display in the preview box.

@cap

I don't succeed to reproduce this problem neither on my X1000 nor on my SAM440ep.

Could you give me your MUI classes versions for the following components in MUI:Libs/mui, please ?

Mine are :
NBitmap.mcc 15.19
NList.mcc 20.134
BetterString.mcc 11.25
Aboutbox.mcc 20.42
Dtpic.mui 20.220

Thank you

I have a 1280x720 WB screen and the program appears with tiny fonts that hardly can be read! No specific MUI settings, just the default values. Is there any remedy?

@Cass

1) if you have a ENV:mui/FASTVIEW.prefs file, could you try to delete it ?

2) Same problem if you start FastView in english ?

3) Same problem with aTunes, SysMon ?

4) I notice that height of FastView window is 884 pixels, could you try to increase your resolution, just to test.

Thx

edit : just tried in 1280x1024 (I don't have 1280x720) with greek locales and it works

No such file in ENVARC: , it is created on the fly in env: ( env:MUI/FASTVIEW.1.prefs ) the moment I run Fastview.

Yes.

I tried SysMon, no problem there.

I created a 1280x1024 screenmode and works OK, but that`s not my prefered mode.

Look forward to trying this, currently use LoView as MultiView replacement, will be interesting to see if there's a speed difference.

@Cass
Thank for test but I can't reduce height more than 790 pixels without to review all my interface.
Sorry

@gtmooya
PM sent with an installer fixed version if you want to try FastView as MultiView replacment.

Uninstaller included of course to fallback to MultiView

@zzd10h
I usually install programs on a test partition and if they're O.K. I move them to my Work: partition. When I move them, thats when I find out they are locking directories or files and not releasing the locks because I can't completely delete the install from my test partition.

When I moved Fastview to my Work: partition, I could not delete FastView from my test partition because the FastView directory is locked. It needs to remove all locks when it exits.

@Xenic,
I made few tests and I am not able to reproduce it.

Do you know if I can do a particular action to reproduce this problem ?

NBitmap.mcc 15.7
Nlist.mcc 20.122
Betterstring.mcc 11.20
Aboutbox.mcc 20.37
Dtpic.mui 20.215

Looks like i need to do some updating.

OK First three are updated and now i can click the preview pane without a dsi then crash.
