Hmm... the link leads nowhere (well, to the server update message actually).

Could you fix it please ?

I think its because it points to the .net URL - use THIS instead

---edit---

They've fixed it now anyway

I guess this means that the scandisk finished early on Fleecy's laptop!

Why not having a voting system, so that people can vote on what questions they want Moss to answer?

At the moment the system I think is that the moderators and the site webmasters vote on what questions go forward.

I think the voting idea was mentioned previously but I have no idea what the response to it was.

@ smithy

That's hard to actually implement.

Also people would need to carefully look if similar questions haven't been answered already and that the message is written politely without obvious sarcasm. Also this invites trolling.

I remember when one Club Amiga Design Logo by a non club member and general anti-club person (Someone who is vividly against Amiga's license policy) was being voted by fellow trolls into the design top 4 of 32 designs in total. The black & white logo suggested that with 50 dollar you are now a licensed member of the Amiga communiy...

Such trolling I personally don't want to see happening here at AmigaWorld, but I believe this would attract certain kinds of people.

Ahem. Oh well I cant help thinking that this is the start of a flame war but surely only club members could vote? They may have only done it out of a sense of irony.

In theory ( and this is tongue in cheek ) one could implement such a system where you had to have been a member with a certain rating or above ( say 100 posts ) to vote on questions - this stops fly by night ballot stuffing - plus your vote doesn't count if you have a yellow card

However given Id be the one ending up implementing it I'd rather we just kept to the current mechanism.

Maybe, smithy, you could identify some questions you think should be asked by contributing to the Ask Fleecy forum topics.

I am sorry, this is one of the best examples I could think of where I believe people can relate to.

No, everyone who had signed up for an account could vote.

This limits the amount of trolling, just like if we would only allow registered users to vote here on AmigaWorld. (But this will attract trolls to sign up and that is exactly something I rather not see happening)

But luckily the amount of votes (18 votes) didn't at all come anywhere close to the postion 1 (108 votes) and 2 (105 votes).

Hoho - I really don't think he would appreciate some of the Paxman style questions that I have

Still, Im sure if you asked them in a reasonable way no one would flame you
for it and they might even become candidate questions.

If you don't ask you won't get, if you do ask you might get.

Well I believe they certainly have a lot of questions to answer. I'll carefully construct the questions so there is no reasonable excuse for them to moderated or deleted.

@ smithy

I can't remember any question being moderated or deleted these last months. I don't understand why you would think this could happen?

Once there was a double post (we specificly ask people not to repeat their questions) which was removed (with explanation why) to make sure that AW staff don't make the mistake of asking the same questions twice (easy thing to do with 200 questions answered already).

I think Smithy means he'll phrase his questions in a way that it's virtually certain they'll get asked.

I remember in the early days of the Q&A when a few individuals asked their questions in a sneering and insulting tone and were highly vocal when their questions were not picked. That's when the whole "awn cheerleaders don't ask any hard questions" thing got started.

@Smithy: when you word your question, imagine you've got Fleecy standing right in front of you, and someone you respect is watching (in a certain sense, that's pretty much what's happening anyway). You'll find it's a lot easier to be polite then

I think both interpretations apply.

Is it me or did he fail to answer question one completely?

Well - I was more concerned about making sure my question wasn't labelled a troll, and deleted.

I have put forward my first question - on the issue about how Amiga Inc will explain its strategy to investors to get funding, given the current market climate. The question is on the Q&A 21 forum.

I only read about remote capability. But what about Samba/CIFS? Apple knew this too was important. Did Fleecy mention any of this before?

How am I gonna transfert my music/videos to my future AmigaOne Lite???
