Aye.

I'm still not clear on whether OS4 datatypes allow reading *and* writing the various formats.

I'm also curious about :
- movie datatypes (is there a movie superclass? what formats are supported?)
- audio datatypes (what formats are/will be supported?)
- multimedia (datatypes for showing and interacting hollywood/scala/SMIL/SWF would be flinking awesome! - but is such a thing possible?)

A good read other than that though :)

I have read before that a new inproved datatype system is planned for OS 4.1 or later. Not in 4.0.

So i guess all the old limitations is still there until the next update.

But i have seen stuff that was planned to be in OS 4.1 in OS 4.0 so don't quote me so wait for a proper reply from a AmigaOS 4 team member.

@gnarly

I'm not sure whether there will be movie datatyoes but it does appear that there will be a movie player supporting various formats, at least according to the , which are too numerous to list here.
