Excellent effort everyone. For a while there I thought a cynical moderator might lock the thread with post #1499

| At least this forum actually let the discussion continue, unlike other free speech fearing cowardly people who own another forum. You know, guys who go buy whole amiga discussion forum just so they can silence and censor the critics and control the information people get. Its childish, nazi like and ridiculous.
Its obvious Hyperion doesn't have any money. If they did they would pay developers. If they had any real cash flow, assets or any finances whatsoever, then they would not need to open up their "shareholdership".
My prediction? Some stupid person will invest money, then the money grabs will begin to try and appease the investor. That won't work, but it will be funny to watch.
There's just not enough people running os4 to make it commercially viable. They won't even release sales figures (They never did) Why not?
Its sad to see things go this way. When I think of hyperion, (or AEON for that matter also) I always think of horses wearing blinders, or an ostrich with its head in the sand.
PPC is dead. OS4 is dead. Still, it doesn't stop people from beating that dead horse much.

I feel your disappointment and perhaps there's even some anger in there. And your blinders and head-in-the-sand analogies are not entirely misplaced.
The more perceptive of us are able to read between the lines of the "Clarification" statement released 12th April 2015. At the end of the day, the commercially legal status of Hyperion Entertainment is that of a Private Company; It does not need to deliver financial reports to the public.
Maybe I'm too much of an Amiga Idealist (read Fool), but I expected that despite a company being Private as per the code of the particular country they are registered in, they would consider the remaining Amiga community as public shareholders. They would through their conduct show that we are all on this journey together and that the only dividends we expect is the timely release of no-bullcrap information and products.
I'm reminded of a couple of other metaphors/fables, both including frogs:
1.The Frog in Boiling Water If the state of affairs that exist today were promoted back in 2010 we'd all jump out.
2. The Scorion and the Frog I will not retell the story here but I suppose we can all guess who the scorpion is in our case.

I'm surprised that your comments didn't get you banned or cause a thread lock. Since A.org and AmigaWorld were bought by A-Eon it seems that any criticism of Hyperion, OS4 or the X1000/X5000 gets you shut down or shut off.....or is it just me? Not to mention the OS4/PPC fanatics who act like their hair is on fire if you level even constructive criticism at the aforementioned.
BTW, I think your comments are spot on. |

Oh dear. It would be an eonic labour do dig out all posts or threads from the last 10 years where "AmigaOS 4.x" or "Power(PC)" was declared "dead". Guess what? It didn't, does not and will not go away.

| Some people has still a weird opinion that Amiga would or should be a mainstream again. It is not and it will never be, but it is good hobby.
PPC has much better hobby value than x86 has. I have some twenty Computers in my home and only one of them has PPC cpu.
I wouldn't understand any reason to use any Amigish OS with x86, as every other OSes does everything better and has much better software catalogy. |

Forget about AmigaOS, PPC CPUs and Hyperion being pronounced dead, how about we turn the cross hairs on the trolls that would rather the AmigaOne platform was a dead platform than an actively developed one! They really do bring a downer on this whole website and the Amiga community in general. I really don't follow the logic that companies with vested interests in a small hobby computer platform like our own should just give up because it won't live up to the expectations of trolls!
Here's an idea; why don't the people with grievances club together and pose an AmigaOS business plan to a venture capitalist (or a group of dentists ), get the money to buy Hyperion and A-EON and heck why not Amiga Inc. as well for good measure and try and do a better job at pushing the AmigaOS/AmigaOne platform forwards?
Heck, why don't they do something nay anything requiring some creative talent such as starting their own thread where they can rant about how they wish Amiga companies were dead, or how they wish only AROS existed etc, you know stuff they feel they just have to get off their chest or they'll explode
What they obviously have no interest in is ever buying a copy of AmigaOS, ever becoming an AmigaOne owner or ever having anything constructive to say about Hyperion, A-EON or anything in relation to the AmigaOS/AmigaOne platform. So we all ask the question WHY DO THEY BOTHER CONTINUING THIS THREAD? Last edited by BigD on 15-Apr-2015 at 06:06 PM.

How about (just a suggestion), since A-Eon owns both AO & AWN, that they brand one of them for Classic and the other for NG? _________________ Fulfill newlight's Elite Narcissist Demands NOW Or He Will Send You To H3LL! |
