@A1200

So you wish to be banned from this site?

Will you be removing that free advert in your profile, of your own business interest "Buyaparcel.com"
or will you cynically continue with it.

@Draby

You are a ****. Its not an advert, it asks what my profession is. For your benefit, I have changed my profession.

Language removed. You know there are ways to express yourself other than that.

As long as you only troll the dumbass ones that's fine by me.

@Draby

What on earth is wrong with him mentioning his website on his profile?

Why don't you just stay away then?
That would be the logical conclusion for most of us: "if you can't stand the heat"

I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT HYPERION STATUS IN THIS THREAD AND STILL THERE ARE NO IMPARTIAL VERIFIED NEWS FOM BELGIUM BUT ONLY A PRESS RELEASE FROM HYPERION ITSELF!

As I understand it, the courts don't want to revisit issues such as this over and over. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, the company was listed as "inactive" at one point last year. (VAT as mentioned). Contrary to popular belief, the site reporting it did not take weeks and weeks and weeks for the info to trickle down TO that site.

But back to "revisiting"...What would follow is an examination of the books imo, followed by recommendations. Considering that shortly after the Hyperion initial statement (issued by beta testers at first) we heard about re-organization, a new director to be appointed, etc. These changes tend to support what I indicated above. If "recommendations" is the wrong term, feel free to substitute one you like better.

If I'm wrong or you just wish to deny there is any truth to this, please feel free. I have no ego about being right. I just thought you could use a post somewhat less off-topic.

Best wishes to all involved,

#6

Luckily I wasn't fooled into buying that AmigaOS4 crap when I was young and stupid.

If you install AmigaOS4 on Amiga 1200 with a PPC coprocessor, then AmigaOS4 disable the 68060 processor and one is forced to emulate the computer on the same computer! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!

Emulate CPU, as all other works as usual (AGA, Floppy etc.). I was even able to run few AGA games without E-UAE!

Emulated CPU is fast (1/5 of native performance) - 604e is able to outperform 68060 - and there is no need for nasty switching between 680x0 and PowerPC CPUs.

@agami

So what is the purpose of your classification? What is your purpose in using a term that already has a broad and accepted usage in computer technology, to cover something totally different, something it doesn't even make sense to cover?

I ask again, in what way is a unix "DOS"? The disks are optional, the filesystems are optional, a shell is optional... only thing that really matter for a unix type kernel, is the RAM.

There used to be a swear filter on amigaworld. But I guess anyone who had any brains to maintain the site have long gone.

You must remember that probably around 99.9% of all Amiga software is dependent on the chipset and the primary CPU. Just imagine how slow it is to run E-UAE on a PowerPC 603 at between 160 and 240 MHz.

Just ask Franko, AmigaOS4 is slow as hell.

What software? 68k applications I use most (PPaint, MysticView, BarClock) work good (well even GFX card driver is 68k in my case). Full Amiga compatibility (eg. E-UAE) is necessary only for games.

Mostly games. I'd suspect that most serious applications that are chipset dependant were largely obsoleted by the early 90's and don't feature in many users software collections.

Only an idiot would think that you had to do that. Most users are savvy enough to set up a dual boot system when they fancy a blast of a few games via WHDload.

Franko has been told many times that it would be a much better experience if he got a video card for his A1200, and not just under OS4 eithe. I think the prospect of adding and setting up one is too intimidating for him now he's used to a nice safe Apple Mac.
