@eliyahu,

It's the rational as " If you disagree with the President' policy you are racist ". Such a mentality spotlights the lack of logic some people have.

@thread

Why is it whenever news like this pops up, the usual bile fuelled retorts, accusations and name-calling are not far behind.

It is really quite sad to see how some people just like to spout off on here just for the sake of it. I appreciate that some of you may not like the company behind AmigaOS4.x, or indeed may not like the management of the company, but just because you are on an internet forum doesn't mean you have the right to go into a tirade of name-calling and mud-slinging with impunity.

The childish "you only like this because of `The Name (tm)`" crap is tiresome at best - and to be honest, even more pathetic behaviour than I witnessed at school. I have witnessed better behaviour from young children!

Now I am not saying we cannot debate things, but at least do so with a modicum of decorum. Whatever the outcome of the proceedings at hand, you will all still have your hardware and software to play with (irrespective of what that hardware/software combination is).

@Severin

The comment from Ben says two things:

Either the business is so part time for him, he gets an Admin company to handle the post. Not exactly a really busy company if you don't open your own post.

Why isn't Ben, lawyer extrordinare, handling Hyperion's own legal stuff? Could it be he's so bad at it, he doesn't even trust himself?

EDIT: Forgot to add.... people wouldn't be taking you to court at all via any method if you didn't owe them money.

OS4 is boring (I really wish it wasn't), as is Ben and all the attempts to keep this dead horse running.

Here's a quote from Ben:

Quote:
In Belgium anybody can file a bankruptcy claim even for 150 EUR or so. It
is a common pressure tactic used by parties who do not wish go to the usual
court process because most companies will pay rather than go through the
motions of fighting off a bankruptcy claim.

It is an abuse of procedure but in our case, matters came this far because
the company which handles our administrative seat did not hand over the
writ of summons in time for us to know about the claim.

We could easily have fended it off but now we need to overturn the judgment.

This was ofcourse not the intention of the claimant (quite the contrary)
but there you have it.

Hope that clears things up a little.

You shouldn't blindly follow without evidence. That can create a religion if enough people think the same as you do!

@all

Today, a new version of Aeros 0.8 compatible with Rasberry Pi2 just appeared, featuring:

- Good old amiga system, structure and interface
- FullHD video playback
- Full html5 browser with hardware accelerated video (youtube) player
- 1gb of DDR3 ram
- TONS of classic and modern software already up and running!

Cost of the hardware: 35$

Cost of the OS: 0$ (10$ for registered users)

You can despise it, or you can have a new and future proof Amiga as easily as that. It is your choice, don´t blame anyone else later ;)

Please do! one of the most important aspects right now is "testers" (users) to give impressions and reports, and improve things.

@pavlor

If actually having noticed what the person in question have claimed and then cross referenced this with other information sources (including legal documents from the same person) makes me an expert? Then yes it is.

Now that's mature of you, it's almost as you didn't read the post replied to and/or never read posts from the person. Well I did and I have.

That there are a lot of people posting in this very forum that in fact _do_ follow the name and the name only is not in question - it should be obvious to anyone. There are quite a few people that even admit it straight out - and those I can respect and even partially understand.

I'm not using this as some kind of trolling bait (even though some people do) but as expressing my opinion. If you find it childish it's fine with me - I find the zombie worshipers childish.

Of course. And Hyperion may well live on.
But even for someone who likes AOS4 it should be obvious that blind faith towards a person and/or company isn't a good thing. Especially if the object of that fait is unreliable!

You might have been right the first time.

I've never known a time when the Amiga scene hasn't been full of drama. There have been times when it's been higher or lower, but never lower than "medium high". Amiga is the Downton Abbey of computer systems -- it's just one thing after another...

Sometimes i feel to tell Zach Weddington to fund a new project after Viva Amiga: a fictionalized tale in soap opera form of the era after the Commodore Bankrupt called "The pirates of the Boing Balls": i am pretty sure will have much more success :)

The second thing was why he isn't doing his own legal admin.

... I have to admit that, since I watched you in some promotional video about the Z13, elaborating on the highly advanced stuff you're working on and with, I was impressed and have been even more intrigued with your presence in this community.
Why on earth would you come to the Amiga (NG) with all its challenges and drama ? It is a completely different league ...

"I enjoy using it" is indeed probably the best and only answer one needs
