yes. but it should made for cusa too.
i continue to believe that cusa customers are people who buy a "good looking" product (young guys) or "for those happy afternoon" (older guys). Anyway, excluding us which are in this and other amigoid forum, cusa customers are people who don't mind anything on "what amiga essence was" or "who betrayed the community". a non geek that would come here would run away in fear at the first flame about os4 vs morphos vs aros. and surely they wouldn't understand why their fully functional cusa c64 pc is object of war. he, in the best approach, would look at us as technonecrophiles...

@amigang

Nah, this year, due to the financial crisis which seems to be still raging on, it was decided upon that there would be only one 'April 5th'. So all the announcements scheduled for that date had to be fitted into one single day, henxce the impression to outdo each other. Excuses for the miscomfort that may have arisen.

Totally off the mark if that's your belief. Young guys don't want something that looks like a relic of the early 80s like the C64x, they want slick iPads and Macbook Airs, infact you'd struggle to find many people under the age of 25 these days who know what a Commodore or Amiga is/was.

To most of the teens/early 20s guys on the IRC channels I frequent, they believe Amiga is a "bargain bucket" brand that you see on cheap TVs etc. cos of the recent press, they had no idea it was once a popular computer, to them Amiga is down there with Alba, Bush and Luxor, basically generic low-cost Chinese tvs/tablets that supermarkets etc. put their own stickers on.

I hope somebody will release a youtube video of how it works. I just HOPE it will not work slow and jerky like today's crappy Chinese pads.

http://www.amiga.com/shop/

http://tipstir.the-talk.net/t2859-amiga-xpedio-7-mt

Also I am more than interested - how quality BoingBall and Amiga are "sticked" to the pad. Are they fabricated or glued stickers... Can`t wait to see the final results :)

@djnick

There are already videos of it, it's just a product called the HaiPad but with an Amiga sticker on it. It's been available to buy from several "brands" for months.

Could those remotely shut themselves down?

No idea, wouldn't buy such cheap tat personally. Happy with my iPad 2. But it appears to be exactly the same tablet, it's rebadged by a few companies.

To bad that android tablets are now named amiga. Hmm a tad confusing to new customers; what is amiga really?

1) Classic OS
2) MorphOS
3) AmigaOS
4) Andriod?
5) Ubuntu?
6) Aros?
7) some other thing?

@Yssing

To most people, they remember it as a games machine from the late 80's. If they remember it at all.

I'm not trying to cause offence, I'm just worried that the Amiga name is on shaky enough ground as it is without being diluted further.

@Kicko

2 of Amigas when they come... C64 only one, as a multimedia player hooked onto TV..

You got that right. The only reason I've been stirring the loony threads is to keep this sort of stuff down.

By comparison with a.org the past 48 hours, I'd say it's quite calm here actually.

Just checked up on A.org, and you're right. Its not pretty...

Hopefully the arguments will blow themselves out without spreading. But if not, there's plenty of other conspiracy theories we can debate to keep them off our front page.

@T-J

My personal users' guide to understand the current tag team match:
http://www.amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=629376&postcount=31

It applies to all parties, not just C=USA.

At a glance, this just looks like completely standard computer equipment with "Amiga" stickers slapped on.

Does this have anything to do with the Amiga besides that?

Unlike C=USA, IContain is not openly claiming to have representatives on this website doing PR, so I'm afraid your answer will have to wait.

It's now seen as a bargain-bucket cheap brand by most of the under 25s that have read the tech news pages lately. The legacy is all but forgotten to the younger generation.

I have just seen HaiPad on Youtube. AWFUL! I just believe it is NOT what Amiga Pad is or will be. HaiPad is the worst thing that is worth ~10USD. Looks good but works terrible. Please, tell me I am wrong?
