I guess you laugh easily at mundane things. "Please, one at a time" must be a milestone in dry humor -- I'm sure it'd work as a punchline in the right context, but it lacks the needed buildup here, IMO.

Of course the magnitude of the effect depends on the personal sensibility.
In this case there was a sufficient buildup for a funny comment - certainly not a joke for the world championship.

My view is that the joke hinges entirely on the fact that DoodooHead's name is used. That's because it provides the layers of meaning that are at the heart of many jokes. It has meaning both literally (DoodooHead the actual person) and figuratively (the next in the line of "DoodooHeads" -- aka dummies). He could have used another individual's name, but DoodooHead's name has the required context resonance for a little smile.

I disagree about the "entirely": the choice of the name adds layers, but without it still he would have written a lightly funny line, and nobody would have complained. But the choice he made was unnecessary and unconsiderate, especially in light of the previous joke he made using the same nickname.
I cannot but think that BB must be really careful about what he says and what he does: it goes without saying for any person with his role in general, and it's even more important in the actual case, given the whole historical background.

Please do go on, gary_c, it just gets better and better, this "joke".
