Except that you just suggested using those "profits" for legal costs. At which point they would not have them anymore. So they could not hand them over, either. So if it was so ruled, they would have to find money somewhere else. And Hyperion being a VOF, that's probably the real estate holdings of the partners. The private real estate, that is.
So, put yourself in their shoes before you suggest that this is a win/win scenario --- they could personally lose big time. |
I guess it depends on how many copies they can sell from that perspective, but you do bring up a very good and valid point.
On the other point of having something to lose personally, one big question mark is did anything fishy happen in the IP transfers? Is it possible any laws were broken? Thats unclear, we have no way to know for sure, but there are some suspicious elements for what we can see.
