Amiga Inc put that clause in to protect us in case they went to the wall, and Hyperion are ruthlessly exploiting it to steal their IP. I don't see how any of you can be OK with that.
LOL you've got to be joking. When has Bill McEwan and his merry band ever done anything for the community. They practically killed off what was left of the Amiga by spending years pursuing their DE pipedream, but then when their plans weren't going so well decided to see if they could screw a buck out of the existing community on the side.
Putting a clause in the contract about the IP had nothing to do with the community, it was just a sweetener to the deal. My guess is it was Hyperion who suggested the clause and A Inc thought, why not, if we go bankrupt we're done anyhow, so we've got nothing to lose..
... I don't see how any of you can be OK with that. ...
There are lots of good opticans out there...

If Hyperion win, I think we should remember that there is another clause - if Hyperion go bankrupt, ownership of Amiga OS reverts to the community, and it goes open source.
So it's in our interests to boycott Hyperion. Who's with me?

The Amiga Inc. that put any clause in the contract is apparently defunct, has been for a while, with unpaid monetary judgements against it. It, for all intents and purposes appears to no longer exist. This Delaware corp. that calls themselves Amiga Inc. these days is who has started this lawsuit. It seems to me that the earlier Amiga (Amiga Washington) would stand a better chance suing Hyperion then this newer Amiga (Delaware).
If Amiga OS goes to Hyperion we will likely see a release for SAM soon. Thats what seems to benefit us IMHO. If it goes to this Amiga Delaware company its a big question mark if anything would be released as a product to us.
