I'm not sure that it is loyalty to a brand name. For myself, it is/was the hope that AInc. or a future owner of the IP would be able to set a unified direction for the Amiga platform which healed all of the wounds and splits of all of the wonderful Amiga enthusiasts so that QNX loyalists, MorphOS loyalists, AROS loyalists, Classic OS loyalists, Amithlon loyalists, ACube loyalists, Amiga OS4/Hyperion OS4 loyalists, UEA loyalists, etc. could all work together again for a common purpose.
Is there any possibility of that anymore or is the splintering complete and unhealable now? Is there a way to combine all of the great aspects of each of these folks' work into a __great__ product? I still hope so. There is such lost potential horsepower with all of these splits.
Is it worse to have a vacant helm or no helm at all? At least with the Amiga name there was still hope for reunification.
Does MorhpOS run on the AmigaOne? I guess that I have to reassess all of the Amiga-like options now so may not necessarily be a HyperionOS user. I realize that losing my business is not a big deal to a company but that seems to be the end-result of your argument; if I understood it correctly.
How about HippOS with logo being a hippopotamus dancing on an effigy of... :o)
