how can this be within the contract you ask? simple. did you sell pos systems? or did you sell amigas and created pos system software to run on it? if you do it the second way the amiga was sold to the target audience with the target hardware. simple.
granted this is not the best situation for hyperion and i am sure they tried to expand the hardware range for boards more in-keeping with their goals but ainc refused and os4 was never released for any other piece of hardware(that we know of).
what we know now is the ua1 was never officially licensed by amiga the big question tho is who knew this beyond ainc and eyetech, when did they know, and what actions was taken after they learned of it. this could prove to be an achilles heel for hyperion if ainc can prove they knew anything.
