Here is the line in its entirety:

[quote]Actually at the gateway 2000 show, we thought of the Friedens as code monkeys and really given the "technical prowess" they have shown over the years the monkeys may be mad I call them that.

Yes, and "the monkeys" in that statement above are everyone except the Friedens by definition. "The monkeys" ie other code monkeys will be insulted that people like the Friedens are grouped with them. Thats why its funny as hell when you think "the monkeys" are the Friedens, because basically the Friedens are the only ones we can say for sure aren't "the monkeys" in the sentence above.

It was bolstered by seperate comments refering to them at that time as not real programmers and as "the wonder twins". Things someone else mentioned to you at the time.

First of all, I dont have a high opinion on there work given the comments and elsewhere, several technical decisions that have been made are silly to the extreme, I'm not alone in that opinion, look at others who have alot of Amiga experience or even alot of OS experience, they have not chosen well over the last 5 years as the OS has moved at a snails pace. Actually Wonder Twins has almost nothing to do with the Friendens at all, it has much more to do with the cult of personality that has grown up about them, and which they have fostered. Do you understand where the reference is from, or are you too young too? Do you honestly believe that we are better off with the Friedens version of the OS vs what we could have gotten from Mike and Bryce for instance? I'm pretty sure for 375K each we could have gotten them to port the OS to PPC, or Andy or any of a dozen really good programmers for this effort.
