@ALL
Ok, I've done the test from my old topic:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=30008&forum=2
With the file:
http://www.maninblack.org/demos/WhereDoAllTheJunkiesComeFrom.mp3
Simply donwload it and copy it to ram:
do:
lame --decode
to convert it to wav
than:
lame filename
to compress it.
Under AmigaOS4.x I've done the test booting with the left shift pressed down so the system was clean and fastest possible and get:
LAME 3.98.2 32bits (http://www.mp3dev.org/) Using polyphase lowpass filter, transition band: 16537 Hz - 17071 Hz Encoding WhereDoAllTheJunkiesComeFrom.mp3.wav to WhereDoAllTheJunkiesComeFrom.mp3.wav.mp3 Encoding as 44.1 kHz j-stereo MPEG-1 Layer III (11x) 128 kbps qval=3 Frame | CPU time/estim | REAL time/estim | play/CPU | ETA 9467/9467 (100%)| 0:30/ 0:30| 0:31/ 0:31| 8.0765x| 0:00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- kbps LR MS % long switch short % 128.0 3.6 96.4 88.6 6.9 4.5 Writing LAME Tag...done ReplayGain: -5.4dB
The lame version was the latest from os4depot with altivec support.
Under MOS 2.7 Ive donwnloaded the lame from morphzone.org and done the test on boot from clean install and get:
LAME 3.98.2 32bits (http://www.mp3dev.org/) Using polyphase lowpass filter, transition band: 16538 Hz - 17071 Hz Encoding WhereDoAllTheJunkiesComeFrom.mp3.wav to WhereDoAllTheJunkiesComeFrom.mp3.wav.mp3 Encoding as 44.1 kHz j-stereo MPEG-1 Layer III (11x) 128 kbps qval=3 Frame | CPU time/estim | REAL time/estim | play/CPU | ETA 9467/9467 (100%)| 0:46/ 0:46| 0:48/ 0:48| 5.3092x| 0:00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- kbps LR MS % long switch short % 128.0 3.6 96.4 88.6 6.9 4.5 Writing LAME Tag...done ReplayGain: -5.4dB
If someone will reply that test finally have all the tets to solve that weird issue...
