Good to see some familiar faces on this board. I originally came from the Cinemaware forums and joined amiga.org last year, in an effort to return to my beloved scene, Amiga.

But instead I saw a divided community and a lot of angst towards anything remotely postive of amiga. Sure I can understand the dissillusioned ppl that have long since given up on the Amiga. But can't we at least be happy of a once amazing system and the joy it brang all of us. Instead of deriding Hyperion and A inc for the delays.

Anyway I don't want to get political here. So a big shout out to everyone and thankyou for believing in a dream and keeping it alive again.

Here's to more happy times, and some good ol amiga reminiscing.

I hate to bring this thread up again, but two threads posted recently on A.org has made me really appreciate that we have Amigaworld.net .

Cheers

Same thing happened here.I returned to the amiga scene, followed a link to Amiga.org, and found a very large gaping split in the community I could not understand.I certainly did not feel welcome and the exerience almost drove my away from the amiga until I found this site.

This site has renewed my intrest and the enthusiasm I first experienced when I came back and saw the title "AmigaOne earlybird preorder available"

The waves of emotions ran something like this : WTF...is someone pulling my leg...what the, OMG its true THE AMIGA IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOHOOHOO!

To think a simple box consisting of silicon, copper and plastic can provoke such an emotional response finds me thinking its kind of silly, and not logical...but yet it continues to defy logic and provoke these emotions. So I simply just accept it.

I am here to help keep the WOOHOO in Amiga any way I can, and dont have time for what I feel amounts to an imitation.

I would not be surprised to see Elbox come out with its own version of AmigaOne when OS4 is released....is the Amiga community then going to split into 3 camps? thats a silly idea for sure.

I don't think so, as Elbox have said they would run OS4, not thier own OS. The main advantage of the Elbox solution is that (in theroy) it can retain compatability with the older software as it should have access to the Amiga Ax000 main board. At most it will take sales away from Eyetech, but that is about it IMHO

You missed my point a bit here.I meant AmigaOne...the hardware...not the software\OS.

My fault, I did not express what I meant concisely enough.
