@jorkany

You know, your attitude isn't very helpful, you sure know how to annoy people. Consider this a warning.

To answer your question, Amiga Inc Changed. To the majority of us users, they aren't relevant anymore. This they have demonstrated by leaving the Amiga scene, not posting, talking to us, etc.

Amiga Inc only seem to want to concentrate on Amiga Anywhere, good luck to them. But they aren't relevant to us anymore.

IMHO

As long as they control the trademarks and/or the IP, they are *very* relevant to everybody interested in AmigaOS.

One shouldn't expect a serious company to post to forums or talk to its (microscopic) user base. When Amiga Inc. were still "posting" and "talking to us", we only got feed lies anyway.

Precisely why no one here is too upset at the news.

Sorry to keep it going, but I thought that Garry Hare and KMOS had bought or somehow "taken over" Amiga Inc? To say that he is "no longer associated with Amiga Inc" is the language that you use when you no longer *work for* a company, not when you have sold it to someone else.

It's not meant to be understood, it's meant to confuse.

I don't think AInc changed at all, they're still the same f*ups they've been for the past 5+ years. I think what's changed is people have finally woken up to the fact they AInc doesn't care about the Amiga or the Amiga name. AInc just thought they could use a once respectable trademark to make a quick buck, Gary Hare was not any different. Gary thought he could leverage Amiga to his advantage for his own goals (Internet OS, telecon customer, etc.) but it bit him in the rear.

Too bad AInc still holds the trademarks, but it will be interesting to see how long a "company" can run on autopilot.

how many times do i have to point out that it's YOU and ME that have the VISION. Who cares about some guys in an unknown office?

WE are the heart and soul of Amiga and it doesn't matter what anyone else does or doesn't do.

Let's just keep our eyes on the ball.
working on amiga programs, on the OS and don't get distracted by nonsense.

no one in their right mind will pay any attention to an insane nut-job.

I mean, this kook doesn't even understand that you never write "Dr. XX, PhD" as your name.
you SAY "dr", but you write "phD", never both. even if you are a medical doctor you write "Mr, XX, PhD, MD"

and that's the Least of his stupidity.

Sure, that is untill that nutjob legally incorporates your COMPANY NAME. Then it's hammer time, no matter how much one would ignore the nutjob when he's doing something harmless.

Amiga Inc not doing anything about this is almost TOO stupid, there's something going on.

Which rumor? Ryan Czerwinski incorporating "Amiga" is legally documented fact. The only rumors are why this is so, but the fact is it's so.

As to why this is so, what's your take on it?

I think it's clear that Amiga Inc, if it exists, does not have the
ability to protect any trademarks it may or may not own.

I also think the following should be noted:[quote]

You missed one:

6. Devalued the Amiga brand name by years of inactivity and wasted opportunities.

i appreciate that. if i owned the name i'd be on him like white on rice.
Apple protect their trademark with MANY Cease and Desist letters every year - even to people who obviously are not any threat. and that's because in a court one has to Prove that the company has made repeated efforts to many people to protect the name.

why so-called "Amiga, Inc" seems (as far as we know) not to have done that is a bit odd.

that said, "Dr PhD" is still a nut
