@EntilZha

I've generally noticed that the closer you get to something the more excitement and anticipation there is about it. Of course we don't know exactly how long there is to wait in this case, but from what we do know, we can presume that it's close, hence the anticipation is higher than ever.

Thanks to whoever found the time to put together the article you mentioned. It'll help pass the time 'til whenever it is that we have to pass the time 'til.

I have a question though. Am I seeing this wrong but is there anywhere else we can access the games & downloads section from the Hyperion site now? Or is this in the re-making?

What's wrong with http://www.hyperion-entertainment.biz ?

Aren't we all? And I probably won't understand a word! Not that technically minded, still, I'll enjoy it!

There was an article about the memory in the AmigaClub magazine which was easy to read even for non technical people. So I think this one is easy to read for everyone.

we need grabs, we need progress report.

Uhm, that's the point. The grabs will look the same as the previous ones... the progress reports would look like "Fixed bugs #1480, #1598"

We're now in the second 90 % phase... the fisrt 90 % of the work is spent implementing, and the second 90 % spent fixing the mess you made in the first phase... The first phase is always the one where changes take place, new features are added and all that... the second phase, the bugfixing/pulishing/finalizing is boring. It's as boring for us as it is for you. There's nothing to report, no exiting new stuff to work on... it's just fixing bugs: You log into bugzilla, take the next bug, fix it (takes between ten seconds and ten weeks), and then you move on to the next bug.

From here (my office in Italy) it times-out when trying to connect.

os4.hyperion-entertainment.biz works fine.
www.hyperion-entertainment.com works fine but leads to the AmigaOS4 site.
Thus I can't access to the AmigaOS4 beta download area.

Ciao
Gabriele

Fantastic line, can I add that to my signature?!?!?

I hope now everyone can see what you are working on. Like EntilZha says, there is no real point of a progress report based around bug fixing.

In my experience, the first 95% of a project is easier to complete (note: not easy to reach) than the last 5%.
Keep up the good work Hyperion, if we ever meet, I owe you a shed load of beer!

@EntilZha

Oh, and totally OT (sorry everyone)

You'll hate me but I know that you and Rogue are massive Star Wars fans - I was lucky enough to go to the "Celebration Day" - all six films in one day on the day of release of Episode III.

I will say though, 17 hours of Star Wars (& breaks) in a cinema seat from 6am is painful on your back

But 50 Storm Troopers, Darth Vader and most of the cast before Episode III was fantastic - shame its all over

@thread

We waited 28 years for the Star Wars trilogy to be complete. And we're whinging about 11 years for the next installment of AmigaOS - shame on us!

Rude!

@Rudei
Yeah, but 28 years after the original films, George Lucas made three totally crap films that ruined the previously great franchise. He should have just left it at the original 3 films.

Well, in case this one isn't on bugzilla...
You really need to run spellchecker on your AW avatar.

Best Wishes,

I'll second that. If those 3 new films didn't have the Star Wars logo on them, they wouldn't have raked in half as much money. They were a disgrace to the Star Wars name.

anyway, i'm pleased to hear this.
thank you again to take little time to inform us.
this is precious information.
hearing this is like story of heroes fighting battles on a good rpg ;)
i would be glad to hear how you crucified bug #1480 and how you were victorious, i would like to hear the story of bug #1598 too.. it's mythic.
i mean you are working on the legendary amigaos. and how you do it is nice to hear.
the good idea you find to solve tricky problems.. everything would be great.
i would love a "entilzha's blog where he tell the story of the legendary aos update to nowday levels and technology.

i realize you of course won't have the time to write everything ..
but still i would be very interested to hear it all :)
don't decide for others if something is boring or not ..
in fact i would give a lot to enter the beta-tester circle and access beta mailing to follow everything and contribute too ..

well.. i go back refreshing os4 site for the new ;)
thanks for today reports and news, i needed it :)
