Hi,
We are a small team working on a new platform for AmigaOS4. We are currently half-way through booting OS4 as you can see on the photo. We can't give you any timeframe but we work hard to make this card available for end-users in time before Christmas.

We don't want to give you any price range but we will do our very best to keep this as competitive as possible.

What is the name?
That's what we want you to help us with. Give us the best name in this thread and the winner will be enrolled in our beta program.

Thanks for reading!

How`s about`Firefly` or `Ember`
And by the way, good luck with your project, any extra hardware that can be made available for OS4 is certainly welcome. Thanks

@rickardr

You're one month too late, it's the first of May now.
Out before Christmas ( Good move to not put what year ) ;)

The name should be "Amiga OBC."

@rickardr

If what is showing on the laptop screen is the serial output from UBoot, you guys are not even close to booting OS4 - you're crashing just after running the UBoot updater.

If you have any better screenshots, please prove me wrong - but right now my BS meter is pretty twitchy when it comes to OS4 capable hardware.

They show at least, a board that attempt to boot.

Have you see other board booting?

@rickardr

dream Amiga ?

After having announcing in a comment in a Morphzone forum thread that there will be no upgrade CPU card for Pegasos II based on MPC 7448 PPC due to high pricing, high power consumption and low performance boost to benefit seriously Pegasos II machines, Bill Buck and Raquel Velasco then suddenly announced into another comment that the OSW (Open Server Workstation) with double G5 dual core will be renamed Pegasos III and that Genesi is about to start a trade-back/upgrade program with "old" Pegasos II motherboards.

OSW-Pegasos III workstation is a micro-BTX form factor motherboard with twin CPU PPC G5 970MP soldered onboard (4x G5 PPC cores totally). Each core has its Altivec circuit, 2 FPUs and 1MB L2 cache.

It can mount DDR2 RAM modules, SATA HDDs, and has dual Gigabit Ehternet ports, features USB 2.0, and mainly it has PCI-Express 16x to connect modern graphic GPU VGA-DVI-HDTV cards.
Bus slots can be either PCI standard and PCI express (Genesi has still not decided the final configuration of it).

Pegasos III will cost:

0 (Zero) US Dollars for developers registered into Genesi Developers'Program.

799 US Dollars (632.92 Euro as stated for sunday april the 30th on exchange rate online sites) if you deide to trade back your ODW/Pegasos II motherboard.

1500 US$ (1188 Euro) if you will decide to purchase a brand new Pegasos III motherboard.

BB&RV also stated that Genesi is aiming at reduce the price for Pegasos III to drop gradually at 1000 US$ (792 Euro) as soon as possib

Hmm..

What northbridge?
Onboard gfx or PCI?
What PPC model is planned? G3 or G4?
USB1 or USB2?
Ditching southbridge I guess?
What's the difference between this and Troika?

Looking good, but I won’t really believe anything until it’s for sale. But at least we have an actual photo. More spec would of been nice though (ie cpu, Northbridge etc..)

Name: Amiplex ?

Wizz.

@rickardr

What about Vapour?

Could be done with a nice logo with green lights behind a little mist..

Seriously though.. Is this to be made only for OS4? Or do you plan to make
it for embedded market aswell?

From the angle the picture was taken I would think we
sould see some at least some reflections from the flash on the TFT.
Trick photo or not ? You tell me.
