@AMiGR

Yeah, they tried a bit too hard to be innovative with the name. Still, at least they're trying.

@Hans

I wonder Wii Nintendo would come up with such a dumb name?

@CodeSmith

It's a sad truth that people in advertising and marketing tend to go a little crazy. This reminds me of an incident that happened in New Zealand several years ago. Some brilliant git at Saatchi & Saatchi came up with the "perfect" Father's Day slogan: "Give the mother f##### a present!" Needless to say, it didn't work come across to well with the rest of society.

Hans

EDIT: Note, his version didn't have the foul language blanked out

Thank you for all names! You are a great community.

As for the media player software we will use MPlayer. We will try to use free and
Open source software as much as possible.

We have tried to contact Amiga Inc for a license but there is no response, yet. We\'ll
just have to wait and see.

@rickardr

DvPlayer is faster, you should contact COBRA when (if) hardware and licence are ready.

@rickardr

Do not show that much importance to Hyperion , release it with BSD or Linux. It is not a problem. AROS will follow and other operating systems. Have you heard about Polaris or Plan9? New PPC is welcome.

Just say no to WIntel and proprietary. The more FOSS the better.
Have fun!!!

Well, I guess I should give up trying to get your attention and an explanation.

Yes, wait and see and not contacting Hyperion are real good tactics, lol! Your 'clients in the media sector' will be pleased, I'm sure...

@Rogue

Well if he hasn't seen your posts about contacting Hyperion by now I guess he
never will And then I'm not counting all other users that have said to him
to do the same..

Is this what they call selective reading? Or maybe reading between the lines?

Yes, not only is it faster it has already got a configurable GUI which easily could be
adapted to any shape or form the customer could want.

with the only problem really being, the codecs it supports (or rather the fact it supports less formats), and that it doesnt play encoded DVD's
