There is a Linux kernel for it (Montavista did the porting), but in all truth it's not really worth it. It's only really good for playing MPEG video. Anything else requires more power, which it doesn't have.

I'm sorry, maybe I am misunderstanding a part, but let me recap:

- You post a picture showing a crashed U-Boot updater, and claim that this is half-way through booting OS 4.

- You claim to be booting OS 4 on a hardware with a 405 CPU, using the G3/G4 kernel (which is the only one released), which is technically impossible because these CPU's have totally different MMU's and no FPU.

- You say you are trying to boot OS 4 and will contact us afterwards, not knowing at all whether a deal will take place or not.

I am sorry to say, but it sounds at least a bit bogus to me. You do not need to have anything to show when you approach Hyperion but a business plan, timeline estimates, and sales projections. IF you are serious about this project, contact us NOW.

Hehe, that's just the thing. He's just pulling our leg because Amigans are an easy target. Look how many people fall for it again. Next thing you know he's going to say that they are 'moving forward'...

Oh, a name for your device... iLose.

You made my day!
Guess that name qualifies best. OTOH iWin had some style, they had a proper website and did very good PR. iWin keeps on being the mother of all hoaxes.

edit: grammar

It's a little bit scary. I figured this was a hoax right from the first post, but so many people seem willing to believe it despite the reasons given for it being unlikely.

Still, as often the case, it's been a good chance to get some more tiny gems from rogue.

Yeah, that's exactly why I read (or at least skim) these, because these topics always seem to have something interesting buried. You gotta dig deep sometimes, though.

Really curious about the PDA.

How do you know you'll have enough money for an initial run 1000 units if you don't even know how much it'll cost to build them.
And who would invest in company that hasn't even researched the costs of their proposed project.

Well, for one thing AmigaOS doesn't boot via normal U-Boot means but rather by using boota.

I know, I know. Sometimes being this good is such a burden.

Of course, what with my comment and your sarcastic remark, if this turns out to be real we both get to look like idiots

There is hoax written all over you already.

Yes, timeline. What's so funny about it?

We all know timelines slip, but if you are planning to get a hardware done in like two years, chances are it will be longer... so yeah, timelines are required to have an idea.
