Back to this Amiga Reunification Project. Regardless of what you think of the reunification project itself, Gunnar's game construction kit looks promising. I played his 194x test game and was impressed. At the bare minimum, this project should get us all some nice new shoot-em-up style games to keep us busy.

I am for Reunification if its possible . . .

I am fully for Gunnar's game construction kit and look forward to all the games it can muster, on as many platforms as possible . . .

@all

I am for new hardware from whomever can deliver it, as we have to have something to run Amiga OS's on. I would buy this project with AROS, MOS but would prefer OS4 by choice. . . (I use all these OS's and OS4 is my favorite).

But, I will not rejoice until its not a concept, but a reality !

Well control of OS4 ain't the problem!

It's control of the licensing of hardware Hyperion are permitted to sell OS4 with.

Also while we are talking about trustworthy;

While there have been pages and pages of threads discussing the court case, cessation of payments to developers/webmaster - bbrv have never to my knowledge ripped off their customers. In fact, as someone else pointed out, they have always offered good, if not great, after sales support.

Amiga Inc. on the other hand misled customers right from the first day 2000 with the Yeehaw! email and carried on cynically farming the Amiga community for hand outs all the way through - x86 Dev Kits - Zico - Matrox video cards - Windows SDK - Linux SDK - Zaurus - CAM - Vouchers - Coupons etc etc.

I was succered for all the above save the x86 dev box (Even I saw the lack of emperors clothes there) and of course Zico was Merlancia/Eyetech vapour.

Damn, did I miss something on the Zaurus?

@PCKiller
I have no clue what your point in making plays on BBRV is here. Once could have been a joke, now it's ongoing. if it's meant as adding nothing but flames, please...don't.

most of the users feel the same way. We all want some new hw. I like to see whats near, and we have ACK for one on may 22nd. showing the cpu upgrade. A year ago Ack wasn't even talking much about product. So I try and look at things that are better then they might seem.

nah, not a camp player. Life is too short and i wish to enjoy 0s4 on some new hw.

was kinda a poor joke, but how about who is ready to get the plastic out and buy some new hw?

Hmm, you're kidding? Was that ever a _real_ possibility, or? (I actually have a Zaurus, far more useful than the previous Handspring I had, but still not a big fan of PDAs..)

Here is what looks like AmigaDE running on a SHARP Zaurus PDA in SHARP's booth at a Japanese tradeshow:

If you've missed out on anything else, just ask me

Hmm, thanks for the link. I saw AA/DE demo'd on multiple PDAs, but didn't know they 'almost'(?) had an OE type deal...?

You've gotta' be kiddin' right?!
He was supposed to deliver in early 2005. People made fun of the

@wegster

"didn't know they 'almost'(?) had an OE type deal...?"

They had at least two actual OEM deals.

One for NokiaMediaTerminal (RIP) and one for Sendo media phone (RIP).

Exactly. The Powervixxen was announced December 2004 (!) and to be released in Q1 2005.

Announcement on Amiga.org 12/2004

Maybe there is a pattern and Adam always gets very optimistic before Christmas? Last Christmas he told us that the Powervixxen went into production (although we know now that there weren't even any A1200 CPU-connectors at that time).

@polka & everyone:
It get's kind of disheartening when EVERY promising hardware producer lies to us: 1.Eyetech tell us to expect new (micro) A1s soon, and then disappear from the face of the Earth. 2.The PV should have been in production for 14+ months now! 3.Troika were supposed to have produced two batches of boards 6 months ago. I hope I don't have to add to that list Hyperion telling us that "don't worry, things are happening". BBRV's OpenPeg/Elfika OS4 day dreams don't count, although they do get annoying after continual repetition without any honest effort from EITHER side to do anything.

(Wish I could have whatever Athiest takes to up my optimisim)

Not a very good track record is it?

Cursed, Doomed, Bantered, Lied Too and I'm still waiting, there must be no hope for me . . .

When in doubt have another and get on with life. . .

Yes, guess you missed my point. The announcement was made some time ago, then no one heard anything for a loooooong time. Since then adam (Ack) has been on irc many times and has made announcements.

So my point is, we have some hw progress in the works now? Lets's see where it goes.

Which means what, exactly? Seems like you're missing the point, or just trying to avoid admitting it. As time goes on, there is announcement after announcement and one missed timeframe after another. What aspect of this cycle, exactly, is supposed to reassure people?

Looks to me like a contest between the guys who can produce hardware but don't seem likely to get an agreement with Amiga, Inc. and the guys who (apparently) can get a license but are having a hard time getting the hardware produced. Well, maybe everyone can win -- choice is good. Let's hope so.

This is a great idea, with only two minor flaws.

1) Amiga, Inc won't let it happen because Genesi support MorphOS; &

2) Amiga, Inc won't let it happen because Genesi support MorphOS.

Now, I realise that, technically, that's only one flaw. But I felt it was such a biggie that it deserved to be mentioned twice ...
