Hmm, dunno. In contrast to Hyperion, they could have influenced things.

If Hyperion had no influence at all, why would they encourage hardware manufacturers/dealers that would like AmigaOS4 to support their hardware to contact them directly on the official AmigaOS4 website?

That's only the situation as it is now. It does not necessarily apply to the time when the AHT affair took place. I don't think there was much way for Hyperion to influence things.

WTF? My hypothesis? You really do have a reading problem. How about you take the afternoon to read these statements of mine over and over again. Perhaps some parts of it might stick:

Quote:
Could it be that Amiga Inc. had already realized that their product wasn't going to materialize with the business plan proposed? We don't know, we can only speculate.

Quote:
I'm not saying this would be the truth, I'm just presenting an alternative way of looking at things to demonstrate the simpel fact that we just don't know,

Quote:
In any case, all I meant to do was state another possible way of seeing things. Not as a claim of what actually happened, but as a demonstration of that this is all speculation and that we just don't *know*.

When you've read this out loud to yourself a few hundred times, perhaps you would be willing to accept that it is rather pointless to argue this "hypothesis" of mine since it was never meant to be "my hypothesis". It was just an example to demonstrate what we do NOT know, not what we know.

Geeesh...

@polka.

If that is true, then it's obviously not an issue anymore. Too bad that gary_c doesn't agree with you and continue to proclaim AmigaOS4's doom for as long as Amiga Inc. owns the AmigaOS IP...

Great initiative, maybe that will help Fabio understand the essence of my posts.

@polka.

The answer was right there in the post you replied to. This whole thing started with me trying to tell gary_c to not make certain claims and conclusions about things we don't know.

Well, if the essence of your posts is really just "we don't know", then why are you making them always so convoluted and abstruse?

@polka.

Did you not read the 3x"we don't know" post? How could you possibly say that I was convoluted and abstruse about it?

Sammy, stop making a fool of yourself, insulting me or using swear words will sort no good effects.

Synonyms for hypothesis:

antecedent, apriority, assignment, assumption, attribution, axiom, basis, belief, conclusion, condition, conjecture, data, deduction, demonstration, derivation, explanation, foundation, ground, guess, inference, interpretation, layout, lemma, philosophy, plan, position, postulate, premise, presupposition, principle, proposal, proposition, rationale, reason, scheme, speculation, starting point, suggestion, supposition, surmise, system, tentative law, term, theorem, thesis.

All you've been able to demonstrate is that either your knowledge of the English language is not good enough to engage yourself in word wars, or that you willingly try to twist your own words in order to make them look better than they really do.

Look above, notice how "Hypothesis" is the same as "speculation", notice how you yourself pointed me to a piece of text written by you, where you said that all you're doing is - and I quote - "only speculate", then come back and dare tell me that I should still read what you've written a hundred time?!

If you've got some dignity, have the courage to come out and say "I'm sorry, I'm just trolling". Or else, keep being the quadruple-faced, boldly childish, uselessy confrontational and poor argumenter person that you've appeared to be so far.

And anyway, call it however you want, but...

... you keep ignoring those explanations.

A flawed example, is still an example, but a flawed one. Basing your line of thought on a flawed example only serves to render your line of thought... flawed!

Why do you only have 600 posts for? You've been here for ages.

@Yo

So, basically, you have been listening to Led Zep's "Dazed and Confused"

@falemagn

First of all, to demonstrate an example of what speculation would be is NOT to speculate, it is to demonstrate an example. It was not meant to reflect my own speculations or hypethesis in any way. That should be pretty clear, or so I thought.

Secondly, the example of speculation that I made is not flawed. All you've pointed out is how it contradicts with other speculations and assumptions and to that I could probably give you more examples of speculations to fill out the gaps, but speculation never really was my intent here. Again, the point was just to demonstrate that it is speculations and that we (surprise, surprise!) don't know.

Thirdly, I still think you should read what I've written a hundred times. You obviously didn't understand it yet.

?

Not to play some childish "he started it" game, I just found it a bit odd as the first thing to react to in this thread.

It's really simple. Let's say that I give you an example of an insult, would you say that I was insulting you? Of course not. The same goes for what you claim to be my hypothesis, it was just an example of what would be speculation, not something to reflect any of my own speculations. Do you follow me yet?
