@Framiga

I hope so. Cheap and OS4, good combination.

Yeah, looks like the EFIKA modules so
probably 128 MB onboard.

And the million dollar question; Does it work?

Thats if it runs OS4 and i can afford to buy one

@TheMaskedMuchacho

Which 3 extra chips? I see only 1 big ATI Chip above the CPU.

My main concern is the onboard graphics.

Does it have enough graphics RAM and how fast is the chip. We have all seen that the Radeon 7000 with 32 MB RAM is inadequate for OS4's graphics system.

Allthough I must note that a Radeon 7000 with 32 MB in a PC is able to run Quake 3 really well.

4 chips on a radion mobility 9000 with intergrated ram.

the mobility 7500 has a much bigger GPU and only two memory chips.

Hardware is hardware. The burning questions are:

- Licensed for OS4?
- Availability?
- Cost?

@DJBase

Look at this much clearer photo of the same chip: http://www.8080.net/pics/20062/2915555814.jpg, you can tell that there are four little chips in there, 3 are RAM.

@PulsatingQuasar

I don't really care about the gfx chip (even the old radeon 7000 would be OK). But the cpu is just a PowerPC440 with 32kb cache and 66 MHz bus clock. Even at 667 MHz is will have less power than a G3/600 MHz.

@DJBase

its got to be faster than the 375mhz G3 in my old mac and that runs OSX and plays dvds fine. good enough for a hobby system, if you need power then wait for something else.

Remember this is the low end board, there should be a much more powerful one as well.

My only concern is whether the included 440 has an fpu unit included. The basic 440 doesn't include one, though it is easy to add this to the asic (the BlueGene super computer is a 440 core with a double fpu unit (double hummer) added. Anyone know exactly what type of 440 it is?
