| Ok, they used a 533 MHz 440EP on this board.

| This board roughly equals to a biturbo-Efika then. I like the concept, to be honest. The obvious questions still apply though: Works? When? Price? _________________ MorphOS, classic Amiga, demoscene, and stuff "When a bridge is not enough, build a Viaduct!" While we wait for the News to appair on the main page, here are some info about the board:
we showed 3 prototype boards with different specs, there are 2 boards with an AMCC440EP @ 533 Mhz and one board with a 440EP @ 667 Mhz.
All boards have 512Mb ram onboard, ATI Mobility M9 chip with 64 Mb onchip, Serial ATA controller with 4 ports, Nec USB 2.0, Cirrus Logic audio chip, and a LatticeXP FPGA chip with a 96 pin expansion connector, PCI and mini PCI slot
Hope this help

Nice. Are they in working condition? I mean were they presented as working (i.e. booting to Linux, or even showing up some firmware), or only as "raw" pieces of hardware?_________________ MorphOS, classic Amiga, demoscene, and stuff "When a bridge is not enough, build a Viaduct!" 32 mb's inadequate for os4 graphics system???. Heck even a 32 mb video card works well with the bloated windows xp graphics system. Are you sure?

I think he is getting OS4 confused with Windows Vista
A 32 mb Radeon 7500 PCI is running OSX fine for me here with all the fancy effects of QE enabled, i think a 2mb S3 Virge could handle the OS4 gui just fine. Last edited by TheMaskedMuchacho on 23-Sep-2006 at 02:28 PM.

Look at the graphics mem when OS 4 is loaded!!!
8 MB left when everything is loaded. Open up a 2 more screens and it's gone. Then it starts using main memory.

So where's the optimization that has said several times in comparison to win? Only the gui sucks all the video mem? ufff _________________ Amiga 1200 desktop. Does that mean you can hook this up to a laptop display??? |
The Radeon M series usually have internal LVDS (or/and DVI) output (some even com with dual LVDS). These are used to hook up a LCD directly. And is was mentioned in the specs.
