So...you will have to excuse me if it's been said already...

But what is the Estimated Time of Arrival for SAM (or Amiga 400)?

Amigas are quickly disappearing, you can't even find one on ebay anymore, well almost...

So does anyone know when we can start putting our hands on one? And how much will it cost?

Thanks

Impossible to know the price right now.

what you meant? AmigaONEs? because on ebay there are tons of amigas and they reach very high prices I wanted to buy an A400 but they reach prices around 400 euro, the powerpc boards reach also absurd prices.And if is an A1200 or 4000 with tons of zorro cards the price could be even more high.that show that there is an high demand of Amigas and people pay for what they want

I meant A1s and classics, they get bought pretty quickly and reach high prices!

PPC boards aren't untouchable £460 for an 060+PPC, two months ago!

Exactly, there are lots of people who want an Amiga, either new or classic, that's why I can't find one unless I pay bloated prices...

So maybe it's better to wait for a new model with OS4 (....OS4....I have never used it...)

"not after.."

Did you mean "not until"? Or did you mean that it's released before April?

@TheDaddy

Will it actually be called Amiga 400? Anyone know?

I am a Mac user but would be interested in getting one to play around with as a secondary system if the price is right.

There is still the undeclared company that produced that high end
prototype that Bill McEwen was going to bring to Amiwest. He said
a couple of things about it during September.

What is your information based on? Did you talk to the developers at Alchimie?

Exactly. Sorry, I should have mentioned it.

Of course they hope to finish it before but April is the deadline.

There were already talks about the price. The maximum should be 500 euros.

Did anybody in Amigaland ever finish something before any self-imposed deadline? Anyway, let's hope for a miracle and also that it'll cost less than 500 EUR. Thanks for the info.

Finish, or have available for sale?
Would that include OS4 running and available on it, or...?

@wegster
PS - if 500 Euros is for the board only, I see things continue to go in the wrong direction.

I guess on the 'plus side,' the few remaining people might be able to get a CPU faster than 533Mhz (667?) by then?

*sigh*
They seem to have made more progress than 'Troika,' just annoyed in general over the seeming never available OS4 hardware saga..

Right, I bought my 933MHz G4 board for $800 two years ago, so buying a 533MHz G3 for ~$635 next year definitely seems like a step backwards. I really hope that the Troika team don't expect people to pay $1500-$2000 for a Panda mainboard, because if they do the "no hardware" problem will be solved in name only.

Yep, good point, and why I keep asking about panda pricing (and licensing). I'd _hope_ to see Pandas at no more than $800 or so (USD), but who knows? No one wants to name a price range from what I've seen. That would still be an expensive system, and be priced out of range for some people...and with suggested pricing on the Samantha, I'm _still_ waiting for something low end in _pricing_ to arrive.

Is Amy'05 officially dead now and marked off as a bad joke on the public, or....?
