Ah, the good 'ol days. Until you pointed that out, I'd forgotten Doug was part of AmigaWorld. The tone of his blog make much sence now.

I don't think DFX is going to buy Amiga. I think its hot air hype.

I think DiscreetFX's intentions are serious and not hype, but I'm highly skeptical that Amiga Inc would accept a buy out offer even if DFX made truck loads on the movie and made an offer.

Would be nice to here how DFX's production is going. "Hey, we're working on it!" would even be a plus.

@Plaz

I guess "we" are only interested into the old Workbenches and OS4, Kickstarts, etc.

At least I wouldn't mind if Amiga Inc. would keep the Amiga trademark, Amiga Anywhere, etc.
Well, the right to use the Amiga trademark would be nice though.

Personally I want a serious next-gen Ami system. The old stuff was great, but with OS4 being ham-stung, OS3.x is becoming less useful each year. Classic Amiga has been added to the retro-gaming ranks. Sure messing with old games is cool, but I'm doing all productive and profitable work on WinX86 and not liking it very much. Old Ami production apps have been left far behind. An example... I LOVED bar&pipes, but modern recording apps on windows/mac/linux now leave b&p in the dust.

In a perfect world, some one with similar pasion at DFX would try to change this. But is it too late now?

@Plaz

We are trying to get one or two trailers for the movie released for NAB 2007. We will not let it out until it is just right though, that goes for the film too.

@DiscreetFX

Thank you for at least taking the time to say "sorry we cannot give an update yet".

I understand that you are very busy with the film and also that negotiations are best performed in private.

I will keep this thread alive however, please take the time to update it when you are able to give us an update.

Even if you just include a "heads up" about any new news items published on your web site.

Regards
Darren

@DiscreetFX

Can you do anything to end this madness between Amiga.inc and Hyperion-Entertainment.

I know you care.
