As for releasing the sources I think you should hold off a bit. Take some time for the situation to sink in. Programmers know how hard it is to just release sources after spending so much time and energy. In the end, releasing the sources is a good idea though just for the closure. |
Cheers ssolie (and ChrisH and Belxjander for saying similar stuff). I'll give it a bit of time before I decide whether to release the sources. As you say, they are worth a lot to me.

Hi GregS,
It's really common practice to encode the binary into Base64 format, then add it in the XML. This way you only have ASCII characters, and it's quite quick to do the conversion.
Not sure about extending the XML syntax though, especially as it goes against the standard. I think the syntax is already complicated enough anyway!

Do you think it could be integrated with AWeb?
|
No idea... I've never seen the AWeb sources. If it has some form of document tree then and a layouter with a well defined interface, then yes.

| @samo79 I'm hoping he decided to take a long-ish break from Paihia, and then after 4-6 months (will) finds that he actually wants to work on it again. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

Upload the project to sourceforge, someone will pick it up.

I might a bit biased, but perhaps the best solution would be handing it over to AROS, this way all am*ga systems would benefit... it could also become part of AROS core and be preserved beside a standalone app, and bring an all new breath of life on itself...
Just my biased view though... _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The Illusion of Choice | Am*ga |

| Hi guys,
Well I've missed coding on my web engine, so I've been tinkering on with the layouter this last month. Here's a random screenshot (on Windows - sorry) of CSS's vertical-align property. I know it's not very exciting, but it was a bitch and a half to get working right.

Good hear, that you have started coding on Pahia again.
It is very interesting to follow the development |

your work wont be futile if it helps one of the other browsers...
i really hope discreet fx gets ahold of Amiga IP, they would give the community a clear direction...and it would grow...

Discreetfx doesn't have $90 million to buy Amiga inc! Even if we all pooled our money we still don't have enough!_________________ Men who have girlies in their avatars are Girliemen! |

What on earth have DFX ever said that makes you honestly think they have a clear direction for the Amiga? |
