@sundown

I don't want to get involved in your "confrontation" with fairlinefastback, but I think there are some points you seem to have forgotten:

1. ACK has not contacted Ivan or Kneedeep with a reason for a delay. Don't you think it's reasonable to just let them know what the status is ? Don't you think they should get the option of having their boards returned in the state they're in rather than wait 10 millenia ?

2. Deadlines are not foolish. Anyone who knows anything about running a business or productivity knows that if you don't have deadlines then things don't get done. If ACK can't deliver something a month after he claimed it's going out the door then that's really poor.

3. After ACK made the joint press release with AI, everyone immediately jumped to ask "what about the legal situation ?" and ACK said "no problem". I think very few sensible people believed "there would be no problem" and then later there was this excuse about new designs can't progress because of legal issues... That's incompetence to say the least.

Regardless of who said what, when, why or how; don't you think those 2 guys should get their boards back now or do you think they should have to wait another month or two ? That's crazy.

FairlaneFastback has been very even handed on this thread.
Has asked for all positive feedback on ACKs activiites, offered a forum to ACK to discuss progress and ongoing issues.
He as even offered to buy anything produced by ACK.
These are not the actions of someone who is negative.

@all

Slight change of topic...but still concerning ACK.

When PV TL was last discussed in terms of release with OS3.x instead of OS4.x (in order to at least get the hardware out there), does anyone have any links to this from amiga.org or any other classic oriented site where this info would logically appear if one was attempting to market such a thing?

Similarly, since this has been mentioned as an option for the "new" hardware, has anyone seen such announcements in the obvious classic forums where such an announcement would logically appear?

(Bah! wrote LT instead of TL)

Thanks. I appreciate it. :)

Which reminds me....

@hatschi

Since you are the maintainer of the closest we have to an "official" timeline I believe we have two successful board repairs and returns total to be added, once recent (Chris/Amigabaitor) the other from someone saying they had a prior repair. Are you willing to add them, this way going forward we can link to an updated timeline showing a more complete picture of events as we know them? I've thrown this out there before and I believe you previously early on said you would add such anyway separately.

Counter-question: Would you be interested to continue and update the list? I am asking because I'll be rather busy in the next months and won't have time to follow the forums too closely (new job, moving to another city, etc.).

You can copy & paste from my list, put it in a new post or thread, modify it, etc.
Now doesn't that sound exciting?

Hehe! Maybe that's exactly what I like about it - a snail-paced island village within a fast-paced and constantly changing world. ;)

Ok I'll give it a shot.

We have Chip who got a machine fixed,and AmigaAbaitor. If anyone knows of anyone I am missing please let me know. I want to give as much due for anything positive as possible.

@all

Recieved today (almost an hour ago), 1 A1XE. My drives and cards are all there and he threw in a Sillicon Images controller card and updated UBoot to 1.2. He also cleaned out the dust and it looks pretty good inside (i had it on the floor. no choice). I haven't started it up yet but tonight i'll test it out and update everything (god help me a year of updates).

Adam, you were slow and never replied to me but you eventually got it done. I called you a thief and you proved me wrong, good, but you HAVE to reply to people no matter what when your holding thier property. This is why people get mad with you. The rest of them, as i told you on the phone, don't matter.

Maybe someone is confusing this with V1.2.0, the SAM Uboot.

Excellent on Ivan machine. ACK may not have a clue about communication and timetables, but if they continue honoring commitments in the future and improving this perception can change.

I think people here have welcomed ACK's small steps to improve positively. I hope it encourages more. So thanks to all involved!

@swoodall

U-Boot 1.2 for the AmigaOne was produced by Hyperion but is still undergoing testing.

It also works better and in tandem with a new SLB which has not been fully completed yet.

Adam should not have released this to the public using his position on the OS 4 beta-test where he obtained that material.

Please be patient while Hyperion's caries out final testing and one of the OS 4 developers Andrea Valinotto completes his SLB work.

@Samwel

thats me, sorry..

(I acquired Hyperion earlier this year with my WookieChat donation money)

EDIT: P.S. thank you Toaks for that $15 donation last week, it paid Hans-Joerg's salary for this month.
