Hmmm, now that Glittering is gone, anyone on ACK's side care to answer my question without fear of being jumped on by him? (As I said, I'm genuinely interested, and won't argue what is said - although others may choose to do so, even if I don't see the point.)

@ChrisH

Not trying to apologise for Adam or anyone else, but perhaps it's simply that he hasn't found out what's wrong with it, hasn't enough time to find out and isn't prepared to admit it?

ACK messed up, clear and simple. No excuses or apologies from me.

My past dealings with ACK turned out ok, however, that was more than two years ago, and it was not a repair issue. I have given ACK the benefit of the doubt many times, but no more.

The company has withheld the man's property from him for years. If it can't fix it just return the bloody thing. And besides the firm made a renewed promise months ago to return it in short order and it did not happen.

And as for what you say more directly, who gives a crap if Adam "isn't prepared to admit it". Friggin grow up ACK Software Controls Inc. Is the firm run by a five year old or a adult? This is a simple matter of running a responsible business or not and about a person being denied access to his own property. If Kneedeep ever decides to take this to the authorities they aren't going to be interested in such an explanation. If that truly is all that is going on ACK Software Controls needs to get its head out of the sand and do the right thing and ship the board back ASAP. At this point ACK's motivations aren't the point, their action to willfully withhold something that does not belong to them is. Its a wrong perpetrated against a fellow community member.

Just out of curiosity, without having to wade through thread after thread to find out, just how long has it been since you sent your board to ACK? From what I have read about all this, it seemed to me that you and the other folks that weren't getting your boards back in a timely fashion have been EXTREMELY patient.....

@Canfod

I don't remember the exact date on Kneedeep's per him but here are the details on the other two that have since been recently returned:

The only thing ACK is working on is more excuses. You have a lot more patience then I have, I would have filed a fraud case against him a long time ago.

I appreciate that, but I have followed this soap opera, and was aware that the other two had been returned. I was just curious about how long Kneedeep has been waiting for Ack to get his shi.... er(sorry Yo )... crap together.

I don't think ACK has had Kneedeep's board anywhere near as long as the other two (which are now returned), but I can't recall off-hand either.

Thought about that.... I do not wish to put out more money and still not be sure if I would get it back.

I don't think you have to spend anything to file a complaint. Maybe whatever agency is assigned to a complaint (should you choose to file one) could help convince ACK to return your property? Its not like the company is even disputing that they have it. You have a statement online on this very forum site that they still had your AmigaOne that ChrisH linked to.

Here is that link that I've put in this thread in the past, maybe it can help, or maybe not, you only know if you try. I guess the downside to consider though is it could anger Adam. Its a crappy position his firm puts you in. Anyway here it is again for your reference:

https://www.recol.ca/intro.aspx

I think its what I'd try if I were you. What blows my mind is why finally return the other two and not yours?? Again good luck. We all hope ACK returns your stuff one day.

OMG, over 2 yrs. ago!!!

Geez, I'm a patient guy myself, but THAT is way, WAY too long to be waiting for something like this! Had that been my board, I'd have rigged up a noose a LONG time ago.

That board could easily have been returned to you(had Ack been unable, or unwilling to do anything with it), and you could have shipped it elsewhere for repair, and had it returned to you again in no more than 6 months, and here it is over 2 yrs., and STILL you're waiting..... WOW, you are patience personified! I realize that distance between you and Ack is probably the main reason you haven't physically gone to retrieve the board yourself, but this amount of time is TOTALLY unreasonable to have to wait.

C'mon Adam, if ya can't, or won't, get around to fixing it, at least ask him if he wants the damn board sent back so he can get it fixed by someone else, and if he does want it sent back, you should actually get around to shipping it in something resembling a timely fashion!
