Hehe, at the time I wrote that, I meant Adam, but now that you mention it, maybe both!

@Kneedeep

Wow, two YEARS?? Might there be someone (trustworthy) who lives close to ACK who could physically go there and pick up the board for you and mail it to you? It would be an awfully long trip for you to go yourself.
There's no excuse for holding onto that board, but now that you've filed a complaint maybe there will be some action on ACK's part. What a bummer... :-\

Kind Regards,
Kay

AmigaAbattoir had sent his in 11/2004 as per him and only got it back a little earlier this year.

So Kneedeep is not the only one who made it into multiple years it would seem.

Personally I think it would be a bad idea to ask anyone to go. ACK has not been too apologetic about this whole thing. Who knows what kind of a situation that could breed for a third party showing up at the president of the company's house. Now the authorities have a complaint and if they decide to take up pursuing it at least they are professionals doing a job.

@fairlanefastback
It certainly is a puzzle why (under duress) he returned the other two, but not Kneedeep's. Assuming he's rational, I can think of some possibilites:

* He needs an Amiga One for experiments (such as testing his mythical A1 CPU card, or easing the porting of OS4 to his mythical PPC computers, if you believe he is capable of that). And can't afford to buy an A1 for himself.

* He broken Kneedeep's board (either in trying to repair it, or else during experiments with his mythical A1 CPU card, or perhaps intentionally used it for parts in repairing other A1s).

* He's pawned it for money.

* He's somehow lost it (insert your wild theory here, as long as it does not involve aliens).

* He has better things to do than repair/send it back (although that doesn't sound terribly rational to me).

I consider the top suggestions as being more likely, but really, who knows?

@Thread

The length of time this whole thing(including this thread) has dragged on just blows me away! Obviously it's a difference in people's way of thinking, but personally, I would be downright embarassed if I had possession of someone else's board for THIS amount of time, and would go out of my way to get that person's property back to them A.S.A.P.

That would be really crappy if so. I sure hope not. If that were the case he could just pay Kneedeep whatever the average going rate is for one used instead at the least I would think.

@fairlanefastback

Criminy. I haven't read all of this thread so I've missed some of the on-going story of the troubles with kept boards.
Hhmmm... You're probably right about someone else going to pick up Kneedeep's board considering ACK's apparent attitude toward these repairs - or whatever he's been doing with them. This is just strange.
Again, hopefully there will be some sort of resolution now there's been a complaint placed. I wish Kneedeep luck!

Kind Regards,
Kay

As we start off the New Year here is to hoping that ACK sets things right with Kneedeep before 2009 comes around!

Ya, I was thinking about that as well, could 2008 be the year, I get my board back? Hmmm, now, I am thinking about what year instead of weeks.... very sad.

You might want to consider that you are possibly never getting it back....sadly. Does Adam still try to string you along or is he just ignoring you at this point?

ACK Controls and Amiga INC are cracking pair.
If I got a phone call from either of them telling me it was night time, I would look out the window and search for the sun.
